The Dental Assistant plays a critical role in supporting faculty and students in clinical teaching settings. This position is responsible for preparing clinics, assisting faculty during sessions, managing sterile instruments and materials, and ensuring compliance with clinical and sterilization protocols. The Dental Assistant also supports students by providing access to clinical supplies and maintaining infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare dental clinics for teaching sessions and ensure readiness of instruments and materials.
- Assist instructors and students with clinical procedures in a safe and effective manner.
- Deliver sterilized instruments and materials to students and faculty during sessions.
- Ensure contaminated instruments are promptly and safely returned to the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD).
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and quality control standards.
- Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control measures within the clinic environment.
- Participate in departmental training programs to maintain clinical competency.
- Perform other assigned duties that support the clinical education process.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related healthcare field from a recognized university.
- SCFHS classification as Dental Assistant or CSSD Technician or Specialist – Required
- 1–3 years of clinical or academic dental assisting experience.
- Experience working in an undergraduate dental education environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures and sterilization protocols.
- Ability to support clinical teaching in a fast-paced environment.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication in both Arabic and English.
