We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Assistant Dean to support the Dean in managing academic programs, student services, faculty coordination, and operational planning. The ideal candidate will help ensure the academic quality, integrity, and smooth functioning of the department, while also fostering a supportive learning environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Dean in developing and implementing academic policies, strategic plans, and institutional goals.

  • Oversee administrative functions including scheduling, accreditation documentation, and budget coordination.

  • Assist with faculty recruitment, orientation, evaluations, and professional development programs.

  • Collaborate with departments to ensure high academic standards, curriculum alignment, and program delivery.

  • Address student concerns, manage academic advising processes, and support student success initiatives.

  • Coordinate events, workshops, and outreach programs that promote engagement and academic excellence.

  • Contribute to policy review and improvement of academic procedures and student support services.

  • Serve on academic and administrative committees as assigned.

  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, integrity, and continuous improvement within the academic community.

Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Education, Administration, or a relevant academic discipline (Doctorate preferred).

  • 35 years of experience in higher education administration, academic leadership, or student services.

  • Strong understanding of academic policies, institutional governance, and student development.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in educational technologies and administrative systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree (Ed.D., Ph.D., or equivalent) in a relevant field.

  • Experience with accreditation processes and academic quality assurance.

  • Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft).

The KAPSARC School of Public Policy (KSPP) invites applications for a faculty position in public management. We welcome candidates from any subfield of public management, including those with research interests that intersect with political science, decision science, and/or economics.

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out impactful research, teach courses related to the candidate’s research field, contribute to core courses and/or electives in public sector management and leadership, supervise capstone projects, and contribute to the overall academic environment of the School. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in management science, political science, or similar disciplines with a track record of research on public management topics.

The KSPP is a newly established graduate school that offers master’s and executive education programs. The first cohort of master’s students commenced their graduate studies in the fall of 2024. The ideal candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and service initiatives and will play an essential role in preparing future leaders in the field of health management. We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in healthcare finance, health economics, health insurance and billing, healthcare financial management, and healthcare entrepreneurship .

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching & Academic Support — Develop and deliver high-quality courses at undergraduate and/or graduate levels in health management and related disciplines; employ innovative, student-centered teaching methods and incorporate online learning technologies where appropriate; participate in curriculum development, learning outcome assessments, and student academic advising.

  • Research & Scholarly Activity — Engage in individual and collaborative research that contributes to advancements in the field of health management; publish research in reputable peer-reviewed journals (local and international); contribute to the academic reputation and research output of the department.

  • Service & Academic Engagement — Actively participate in departmental and college committees and activities; support departmental administrative responsibilities as assigned; represent the college in professional organizations and community outreach activities.

  • Mentorship & Student Development — Provide academic mentorship and career guidance to students; supervise student research projects and capstone initiatives.

  • Other Duties — Perform any additional tasks or assignments as directed by the Head of Department or College Leadership.

Additional Requirements
  • At least one international peer-reviewed publication in Healthcare Administration.

  • Submission of Research and Teaching Statements.

  • Provide 3 to 5 professional references including name, job title, and contact information.

Education
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees in Healthcare Administration or a closely related field from accredited institutions.

  • Certified training or professional development in health management is a plus.

Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level in higher education institutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage academic and administrative responsibilities effectively.

  • Experience in online learning and assessment design is highly desirable.
