Job Description
The Consultant, Database Management plays a major role in our organization. This role helps clients determine whether their organization is providing benefits and paying salaries that are equitable and competitive within the marketplace. The Consultant develops, communicates, and implements salary survey data for the inclusion of base pay, bonuses, and incentives in Korn Ferry’s market leading rewards benchmarking database.
Responsibilities
Data Collection and Analysis
- Follows-up with clients to participate in compensation and benefits surveys.
- Supports clients with the data submission process and verifies data directly with them.
- Performs market review independently to identify any outliers in the overall database. Trains junior team members on how to complete the market review process.
- Performs standard quality checks for sector reports and helps to review data checks by junior team members.
- Performs data extracts and analyses from the database to service clients’ market information needs, both qualitative and quantitative.
- Launches and conducts salary surveys for a broad range of industry sectors, including collecting data, performing analysis, interpreting data, and delivering results.
Client and Customer Management
- Provides statistical analysis to clients on compensation and benefits. Reviews junior team members’ analyses.
- Works with clients independently to suggest appropriate benchmark jobs for their internal roles and reviews junior team members’ suggested client benchmark job matches.
- Leads client calls for complex or marquee accounts.
Project Management
- Leads 1 to 3 sectors, depending on size, to provide operational and client support. Works closely with junior team members to direct sector development initiatives.
- Co-leads custom survey projects.
- Thinks about the survey cycle holistically and anticipates what actions need to be taken in the short and long term.
Product/Client Services and Solution Development
- Leads public trainings for our Data Collection Tool.
- Interprets client’s needs and makes recommendations to them on how to use our data accordingly.
- Thinks strategically about how clients use our platform and makes recommendations for future enhancements.
Research
- Researches, gathers, and analyzes data to determine appropriate salary levels for client jobs in the benchmark database.
- Identifies areas of improvement for their assigned sector(s), including understanding current pay practices, trends, and key HR business needs within the sector.
Internal Communication and Cross Team Collaboration
- Provides support to Commercial and Advisory teams regarding interpretation of market compensation practices and guidelines.
- Proactively communicates sector initiatives and updates to Commercial and Advisory teams.
- Trains junior team members and serves as a subject matter expert for database management processes.
System Management
- Proactively maintains data management systems (Salesforce) as accurately as possible and provides feedback for efficiencies and updates.
- Thinks strategically about how our systems work together and helps to develop best practices to use the systems efficiently.
Skills and Specifications
- Knowledge of HR principles and practices.
- Ability to handle superior level of confidentiality concerning employee information.
- Proficient in Microsoft office, with a high level of proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to work independently and in an interactive and collaborative team environment.
- Strong time management and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt in a frequently changing business environment.
Education and Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of experience working in a human resources environment with exposure to compensation and benefits.
- Experience in any compensation and benefits administration related activities.
- Experience in questionnaire design, data analysis, presentation writing, and delivery of client projects.

**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1.Oversees operational activities and services for Database Management and ensures continuous timely, ongoing, and stability of the Department operations
2.Defines and implements database monitoring rules and strategies to improve the ongoing performance of business databases.
3.Assists in the development of all related documents policies, procedures for the department and ensures its implementation.
4.Plans and provides current and future database resource needs by working with Applications and Health Informatics and Informatics Systems Operations.
5.Creates preventive maintenance schedule and plan including database tuning and health checks.
6.Defines, implements, and manages database security measures and policies that comply with overall HITA policies.
7.Follows prescribed system safety and security procedures of computing environment.
8.Maintains and ensures employee engagement, satisfaction and retention.
**Education**:
PhD, Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline is required.
**Experience Required**:
Four (4) years of related experience including three (3) years at a supervisory position with PhD, seven (7) years with Master’s Degree, or nine (9) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required.
