To oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our infrastructure and data management systems. To ensure that the technology resources are effectively managed to support the business operations, data needs, and strategic objectives.
Key Activities
Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, installation, and management of the HPC infrastructure, which includes hardware, software, networks, servers, storage systems, and data centers to support complex computational tasks.
- Develop and implement infrastructure roadmaps, plans, and strategies (HPC strategy) that align with our mission to enhance transportation safety and operational efficiency.
- Ensure that the current infrastructure meets the current and future needs in terms of performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Assess current infrastructure capabilities, anticipate future technology needs, and make recommendations for infrastructure investments and upgrades.
- Design and maintain scalable and robust HPC infrastructure to support complex computational tasks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Manage the integration and optimization of cloud services, supporting our agile and scalable infrastructure needs.
- Provide comprehensive reports and analytics on HPC operations, performance, and usage patterns, informing strategic decisions and operational improvements.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor the performance of IT infrastructure. Regularly review and optimize infrastructure performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Work closely with other IT departments, such as software development, cybersecurity, and support, to ensure seamless integration and operation of technology systems.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders to provide updates on infrastructure initiatives, challenges, and successes.
Data Management:
- Develop and implement data management strategies, roadmaps, and plans aligned with our business objectives, ensuring all systems function optimally and meet service level agreements (SLAs).
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans and data replication techniques to protect our data and from potential threats, such as hardware failures, cyber-attacks, natural disasters, or human errors.
- Implement and enforce security measures such as access controls, encryption, authentication mechanisms, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security patches to protect against cyber threats and data breaches.
- Overseas and maintains our data architecture and infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage and processing systems.
- Establish data governance frameworks, quality standards, and lifecycle management processes to optimize data usage and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Establish data quality standards and processes to ensure that data is accurate, complete, consistent, and up to date.
- Implement measures to improve energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of the data center
- Establish the Infrastructure and Data Management directorate’s plans and provide input to the Digitalization division’s goals that support its overall strategic plans.
- Collaborate with directors in other divisions to identify the Infrastructure and Data Management directorate’s required initiatives to meet future business demands.
- Prepare and present regular reports on the Infrastructure and Data Management directorate’s progress and outputs to be shared with relevant stakeholders in line with reporting requirements.
Processes Management:
- Oversee the implementation of the Infrastructure and Data Management department’s policies, procedures, and controls covering all areas of activity ensuring all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high-quality and cost-effective results.
- Oversee the development and implementation of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with other functions (if needed)
- Monitor day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures, including risk management rules and regulations.
Experience:
- 10 years + of overall experience with 4 years’ Experience in a Managerial role
Education:
- Master's or Bachelor’s degree in information technology, System Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent is required.

- Qualifications:
- Fluent in Arabic and English
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in data management, with a focus on data governance and quality management.
- Proven expertise in data management frameworks, data governance policies, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in data management tools and software (e.g., ETL tools, data warehousing solutions).
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Has a good understanding of NDMO requirements.
- Certified CDMP, CPIM (preference)
