The Specialist - Data Governance is accountable for supporting projects and clients in ensuring that data is being used and managed in a way that is compliant, secure and beneficial to the organization. S/He develops and implements policies and procedures for managing data and ensures that these policies are followed by all stakeholders within the organization

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Define and implement data governance frameworks and processes for data management such as data quality, data security and data lineage;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and design data governance processes accordingly;
  • Define the main subject areas and data domains in the enterprise;
  • Introduce stakeholder driven processes with roles and responsibilities;
  • Identify and document data assets and their associated metadata, data lineage and data quality;
  • Develop, implement and maintain data governance policies and procedures to ensure data is accurate, accessible and compliant with regulations;
  • Identify and document data risks, sensitivity levels and classifications;
  • Educate and train stakeholders on data governance to ensure compliance with related policies and procedures;
  • Create and maintain data governance documentation including data dictionaries, data models and data lineage diagrams;
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments such as compliance, IT and legal to ensure abidance to relevant regulations and laws;
  • Monitor industry developments and regulations to ensure up to date and effective data governance processes.

The Data Governance Manager is the central authority responsible for organizing, administering, and promoting the Data Governance Framework across Maaden. Job Description

Join Master-Works as a Data Governance Consultant and play a critical role in shaping our clients' data management strategies. In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations. Your expertise will help organizations drive data-driven decision-making while maintaining the highest governance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures tailored to client needs.

• Conduct assessments of existing data governance practices and identify improvement opportunities.

• Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote awareness and adherence to data governance standards.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability.

• Monitor and report on compliance with data governance policies, recommending corrective actions as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or consulting.

• Strong understanding of data governance principles and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

• Proven ability to analyze complex data systems and recommend actionable improvements.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications in data governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) are advantageous.

• Familiarity with data governance tools and platforms for managing data quality and compliance.

• Experience with data analytics and visualization tools is a plus.
