Job Purpose:
The Data Privacy Specialist in the Data Management Office is responsible for ensuring the company complies with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and international data protection regulations. This key role involves developing and enforcing privacy policies, handling Consent and Preference Management (CPM), managing Data Subject Requests (DSR), and conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA). Certification in Saudi PDPL is mandatory for this position (when it becomes available), emphasizing the importance of specialized knowledge in Saudi data privacy standards. By overseeing these critical functions, the Data Privacy Officer safeguards personal data, mitigates privacy risks, and champions ethical data practices, thus upholding the company’s commitment to data privacy and security.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive data privacy policies, as per the Saudi PDPL requirements. Coordinate with Data Governance on the review and documentation of Data Privacy policy and plan, coordinating on necessary inputs and feedback, to align with the Data management policy and also to contribute towards continuous improvement goals. Such plans and policies must be constantly reviewed and kept up to date.
- Manage Data Subject Requests (DSR) and conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).
- Direct the company's response to data privacy incidents, including breach detection, response, and notification procedures.
- Manage the operation of Data Privacy Automation platform ensuring that it aligns with all PDPL processes.
- Lead data privacy training and awareness initiatives, emphasizing the importance of CPM, DSR, DPIA, and PIA practices.
- Develop and manage processes for Compliance monitoring and regular internal audits to assess and uphold regulatory compliance.
Key Activities:
- Manage communications with regulatory authority (e.g. SAMA, SDAIA) with respect to Data privacy domain.
- Implementing and managing Consent and Preference Management processes.
- Handling requests from data subjects in accordance with their rights.
- Performing regular DPIAs and PIAs to evaluate and mitigate privacy risks.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure privacy by design in new projects and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information security, Information Technology, or any related certificate,
- Certification in Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL)- when it becomes available, or otherwise CIPP.
Work Experience:
Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in related fields.
