Qualifications:

Reporting into the Service Manager, the Heavy Equipment Technician will be part of the wider Engineering Service team that is responsible for attending breakdowns and carrying out fault-finding, diagnostics, servicing and repairs to a variety of powered access machines. Planned preventative Maintenance (PPMs) will also be a part of the daily duties.
As well as being stationed at your assigned depot workshop, this role may be required to work outside of normal office hours or travel outside of assigned depot city for the occasional project at our other depot locations in the GCC.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Planned Maintenance**
- Complete planned maintenance activities including maintaining the appearance of the fleet to corporate standard. Ensuring all waste is disposed as per the Company policy.
**Repair**
- Diagnose and fault find to ensure the machines meet the manufacturers and company specifications, ensuring that no short cuts are taken during the repairs. Refrain from undertaking any task in which your ability or knowledge does not allow you to complete.
- Repair machines within the workshop as required in line with manufactures specification and Company policy
- Follow the proper R4 procedures when changing the machine status (without deviation) - PHI (4) - Repair (3) - PDI (1) - Available
**Quality, Health and Safety**
- Maintain at all times the highest level of safety during the task and that each task is completed in conjunction with the relative Safe System Of Work ( SSOW ) and Risk assessment for the task in hand.
- Flag any non-compliances with the health and safety and / or repair standards to the line manager.
**Administration**
- Accurately completes all relevant work documentation which is assigned electronically through the Smart Phones, ensuring 100% compliance with data input at all times.
- Obtain warranty instructions and ensure that all warranty claims are completed and passed for recovery
- Support the Service Manager/ Foreman in the effective running of the Depot Workshop.
- Maintain records covering workshop equipment servicing
- Assist with TechX activities.

Maintain contact with the bridge and the Deck Foreman during lifting operations
Stage 3 Certificate
Holding a IMCA Crane opt. Log Book (or equivalent)
Experience with Offshore Cranes 2000T and greater
5 or more years of offshore experience.
5 or more years of experience as Offshore Heavy Lift Crane Operator or Offshore Main Crane Operator above 2000 T.
Experience with the following Cranes is preferrable: NOV Cranes, HUISMAN cranes, AMCLYDE Cranes, LIEBHEER Cranes
Operate the crane within the designed crane load capacity, in accordance with the derating tables applicable to existing weather and sea state conditions
Performs basket transfers where permitted and safe to do so
Hold the Offshore Crane Operator certification (level 2 for unsupervised inboard lifts; level 3 for unsupervised offshore lifts)
Be aware of the surroundings in terms of potential clashes with other vessel equipment
Be aware of crane limits in terms of reach and capacity
On vessels with multiple cranes, be aware of the interaction with other cranes and proactively intervene in order to avoid any interference during simultaneous operations
Interact with the supervisors in order to define the lifting procedures
Report any crane equipment malfunctioning to own supervisor
Ensure that all safe work procedures for crane lifts are adhered to
Liaise with Bridge and 1st Assistant/Deck Foreman while executing any lifts that could affect the vessel stability
Make daily inspection of crane cables
Carry out daily routine maintenance to the crane and the operator's cabin
Keep a high level of housekeeping on the crane and in the operator's cabin
Liaise with 2nd Engineer/Crane Engineer/Chief Electrician/Vessel Equipment Engineer on crane maintenance and performance, in order to ensure that repairs and preventive maintenance are carried out properly
Carry out weekly inspection of the crane in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations
Fill up the crane log book as required for all lifts above 50 ton
Issue work instructions to the Tuggerhoist Operators
Stop the lifting activity if required on safety or technical grounds, if continuing could cause any damages or injuries
Report to the 1st Assistant, while taking instructions directly from the Deck Foreman during lifting operations
Working days/hours: 12 hours per day, 7 days per week
Rotation: 35 working/ 35 on leave
