Our client is a renowned, international construction company with operations globally. The company are actively expanding with the kingdom and in order to help facilitate the growth in projects they are looking to appoint Senior Legal Council.
The role will advise on their interests in Saudi Arabia and act as their most senior lawyer in the company. The work is a broad mixture of general commercial and corporate work related to construction and project delivery. This role will report in to the Regional Counsel based in Dubai.
Key requirements of the role:
- At least 6 years working in an international business / legal envorinment.
- Fully versed in Islamic Sharia Law.
- Advanced knowledge of FIDIC Contracts would be beneficial.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
- A degree in Law or in a related field.
- Experience working a construction company would be beneficial including knowledge of Saudi procurement law.
- Excellent ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.

Job Description
The Role
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including NDAs, teaming agreements, framework/master services agreements (MSAs), partnership agreements, vendor contracts, and data protection agreements • Build and maintain standardized contract templates to streamline contract execution and ensure compliance across the region • Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Finance, and Operations to ensure contracts align with business objectives and commercial strategy • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and other GCC jurisdictions, particularly regarding data protection, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption • Develop and manage internal compliance frameworks, including policies on ethics, data privacy, and document management • Design and deliver internal training programs on compliance-related topics such as data privacy, anti-bribery, whistleblowing, and ethical conduct • Provide legal counsel to senior leadership on a broad spectrum of issues including data privacy, risk management, dispute resolution, and general corporate matters • Support resolution of legal disputes through mediation, arbitration, or litigation, coordinating with external counsel as needed • Handle internal legal reporting obligations, including regular updates to the EMEA General Counsel.
Requirements
• Qualified solicitor or equivalent legal professional • Law degree (LLB or equivalent) with a minimum of 5+ years’ post-qualification experience • In-house experience working closely with a management team • Previous experience within the technology sector, with exposure to complex technology contracts (desirable but not essential) • Proven legal experience, with a focus on reviewing and negotiating complex contracts, ideally within or alongside a corporate legal setting • Previous experience in managing a compliance program • Experience in corporate governance, having contributed to or led the design and implementation of governance frameworks • Strong business partnering mindset and ability to work with all departments and levels • High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to promoting a culture of compliance and transparency • Comfortable working within an international and multicultural environment, with the ability to collaborate across time zones, cultures, and legal jurisdictions • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities • Sound judgment, with the ability to assess risks and provide practical legal advice • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; good listener; highly responsive to internal clients and able to handle pressure • Strong influencing and diplomatic skills • Ability to manage workload efficiently and work independently • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality • Prior experience acting as, or supporting, a Company Secretary (desirable but not essential)
