Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support in defining Process Control Objectives for the processes and following up to ensure that sector objective is in line with the global Refinery objectives and oversee the teams activities in a way that supports the achievement of these objectives.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and follow up on the usage of standard control loops.
• Manage and coordinate all project troubleshooting activities as assigned to Process Control engineers. Support by proposing an adequate advanced control solution to solve recurrent problems and issues.
• Support Advanced Control systems modifications and related items to PCS.
• Ensure continuous knowledge management/sharing among colleagues.
• Close coordination with relevant Sr. Process Control to set the priorities and activities.
• Communication & Coordination with other divisions (Maintenance (CET & M&R ) Process engineering, Business teams).
• Contribute to developing necessary Process Control yearly budget.
• Manage and instruct PCS Technicians in respective areas.
• Develop the training and development requirements of the subordinates.
• Forecast and control the budget and expenditures of the Organization.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent Process Control.
• Managing daily meetings and oversee daily activities.
• Ensures that Process Control Systems are following & maintaining a high level of standard for Cyber Security to secure Refinery assets & production and data.
• Ensures that the refinery process control systems are maintained safely.
• Drives a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Provide direction, motivation, training, and technical support to colleagues and subordinates.
• Provides Reports and key performance indicators.
• Participate in Technical meetings and provide presentations based on objectives.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Education Background: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent. (Computer Science, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering)
• Experience: 6-8 Years experience in Control Engineering in the Petrochemical Industry .

We are looking for an Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer to join our team at Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) under the Reliability Solutions Department (RSD).

Your primary role will be to provide expert guidance and support to optimize operations using Advanced Process Control technologies such as DMC3, PACE or Profit Suite. You will also lead improvement initiatives for all operating departments within the Global Manufacturing Portfolio.

As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

• Streamline APC objectives with corporate objectives and develop programs, best practices, and monitor KPIs to improve APC and economic performance.
• Analyze data from various sources, such as process variables, instrumentation, and control systems, to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop inferential (linear and non-linear) to improve refinery operations, efficiency and reduce costs.
• Implement APC strategies, perform feasibility studies and establish new business cases to optimize refinery operations and maximize the yield of desired products.
• Conduct pilots and evaluate new APC technologies such as Real-Time optimization, Machine Learning, and AI to contribute to yield improvement.
• Analyze chronicle problems and debottleneck complex APC to improve process operations and economic benefits.
• Provide subject matter expertise to operating facilities Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams by consulting, providing awareness sessions, and participating and leading technical exchanges and conferences.
• Lead technical sessions such as the design review, model review, and commissioning.
• Perform periodic assessments and evaluations to assess the performance and effectiveness of real-time optimization solutions.
• Work closely with the optimization team (Real Time optimization engineers, Simulation engineers and automation engineers) and ensure optimization requirements are met.
• Lead pre-and post-performance baseline evaluation for APC technologies.
• Monitor economic benefit Key performance indicators and provide recommendations.
• Review standards and General Instructions on behalf of the GME departments and act as leading SME.

As a successful candidate you will hold a:

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering degree. An advanced degree is preferred.
• 15 years of experience in reliability engineering in the Oil and Gas Industry’s downstream sector. Twenty years is preferable.
• Expertise in APC, control systems, and Open Platform Communication OPC.
• Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of refinery economics, mass and energy balances.
• Demonstrate familiarity with international standards and specifications for advanced process control.
• Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of advanced process control.
• Strong leadership skills to effectively manage technical discussions and guide technical teams.
• Knowledge of oil/gas-related plant processes.

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer with a background in chemical engineering and extensive experience with Honeywell APC systems. The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing and enhancing the performance of our process control systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and safety within our operations in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.

*Key Responsibilities:*
- *APC System Management:* Design, implement, and maintain advanced process control strategies using Honeywell APC systems to optimize process operations.
- *Performance Optimization:* Analyze process data and identify opportunities to improve control strategies, enhance process stability, and maximize production efficiency.
- *Troubleshooting and Support:* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for APC systems, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution of issues.
- *Process Analysis:* Conduct process analysis and modeling to support the development of APC strategies and improve overall process performance.
- *Collaboration:* Work closely with process engineers, operations personnel, and other stakeholders to understand process requirements and develop customized control solutions.

*Qualifications:*

- *Education:* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- *Experience:* Minimum of 6 years of experience in advanced process control, with a strong focus on Honeywell APC systems.
- *Technical Skills:* Proficiency in Honeywell APC systems, including design, implementation, and maintenance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in process modeling and optimization.
- *Communication:* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly.
- *Project Management:* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- *Language:* Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

*Preferred Qualifications:*
- Experience in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to process control and safety.
- Certification in APC or related fields.

- Soft wares familiar with - Profit Suite, Profit Optimizer, Plant Wide Optimizer etc.

Basic Salary (SAR) – 9,500/- PM – 14,000/-PM + Family status ( Salary shall be offered depends on experience and caliber of candidate .

Principal Duties:

• Ensures that technical, cost and scheduled performance objectives are systematically and consistently achieved

• Manages and supervises Technical Affairs, KSAU-HS Work Control Center staff to the standard operation procedure requirements.

• Develops a complete training system for in-house training of Work Control staff in all aspects of labor planning, work measurement techniques, work supply and safety.

• Coordinates with Engineers and Supervisors to collate operation requirements of all work issues for Work Control.

• Implements the application of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) expansion in accordance with the requirement of the project.

• Ensures all operating system are fully updated to the current working practices.

• Ensures all Technical Affairs sections are fully applying safety requirements.

• Develops systems of control for effective use of labor resources.

• Develops performance indicators for effective monitoring of work measurement and safety.

• Reviews safety requirements in Technical Affairs’ workshops and recommends improvement to the Safety Engineer.

Qualifications:

1. B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
2. Good working experience in schedule/time control in Petrochemical/Refinery plants using Primavera.
3. Cost control experience is preferable.
