MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Ensure that projects are supported with Construction Department guidelines and that the construction process is in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Organization and coordination of construction project meetings with team members and various project stakeholders.
• Recruitment and monitoring of construction inspection during project phases.
• Daily oversight of construction engineering team, including assigning tasks, reviewing work product, and generating performance appraisals.
• Assistant site management team in identifying and following up on construction opportunities.
• Assisting the site management team to implement client development and marketing strategies among existing and potential clients.
• Monitor sub-contractor progress and performance, including review and approval the progress.
• Ensure accurate setting out and leveling of the works in accordance with the drawings/ specifications.
• Ensure all drawings and information relating to the post holder’s area of work are accurate and up-to-date.
• Ensure quality control and testing of work and materials is carried out in accordance with the specification requirements.
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with the project schedule
• Acting as the main technical advisor not judgment, direct and supervise day to day operations of sub-contractors when required, resolving any technical issues that may arise.
• Control and monitor site waste in accordance with the Company’s Site Waste Minimization and Management policy.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of own activity related to projects on the system to enable traceability.
• Document the lessons learned and discipline library and case studies leading and managing the on-site construction team within his area of specialization.
• Review the methods of statement checklists that will be required during the construction and confirmed it.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• + 8 years of work experience in the related field.
• Experience in Power Plants or Substations or synchronous Condenser is must.

As a Civil Engineer, you are responsible for project management, professional/technical engineering, engineering design and review, standards survey work, inspections, and using engineering software applications.

Other duties and responsibilities:

1. Prepares and approves designs for projects in accordance with general engineering principles and standards; determines scope, designs, prepares drawings, specifications, bidding documents, contracts, and cost estimates for projects; conducts and coordinates design and construction surveying.
2. Conducts construction inspections, reviews and approves contractor pay requests; reviews and processes construction change orders.
3. Provides design data for surveying and engineering applications using CAD; word processing; spreadsheets; and uses appropriate computer hardware; responsible for data input and production of digital maps, surveys, engineering drawings, and special database reports.
4. Determines selection criteria and collaborates with purchasing staff to select engineering consultants and contractors; specifies parameters and determines scope of work for consultants and contractors; reviews and approves work conducted by consultants; reviews and approves consultants' pay requests.
5. Provides technical assistance and consults with other departments regarding engineering functions.

Construction Managers are responsible for construction of new Fulfillment Centers (FCs), Sortation Centers (SCs), Delivery Stations (DSs), and auxiliary buildings that support those facilities as well as renovations & tenant improvements at existing buildings.

Construction Managers will also handle the implementation of the facility network infrastructure. The construction projects include new builds, retrofits, and expansions. Construction Managers are required to perform detailed deep dive reviews of job budgets and programs to identify and resolve any discrepancies, including information in contractor bid packages. Construction Managers will partner with internal customers and external stakeholders such as consultants and contractors to earn their trust and engage as a team to deliver the project in the most efficient manner. The Construction Manager will serve as Amazon's representative and direct point of interface with Developers and General Contractors, as well as the primary integrator between construction and other Amazon stakeholders responsible for equipping, furnishing, and operating our FCs. This opportunity combines construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management.

1. Responsible for project management over new construction of Fulfillment Centers throughout the AMET region as well as renovations and capacity improvements within existing facilities.
2. Advise on the impact of changes in schedule, costs, and permitting.
3. Support construction scope review and development with internal technical teams and operational customers to facilitate engineering and design efforts on new and remodel projects.
4. Responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, from relatively small renovations to large-sized ($100M+) new facilities.
5. Work independently in the assigned regional area with minimal direction from leadership.
6. Prepare reports, specifications, technical analysis to fully define the design requirements, equipment and services required on capacity expansion and remodel projects.
7. Negotiate contracts and contract changes with developers and General Contractors, and present formal documentation for approval when required.
8. Provide overall site management, coordination, planning, specification of business proposals, and coordination of subcontractors.
9. Assess project performance through Key Performance Indicators for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
10. Partner with teams tasked with transition of base building management and oversight of all turnover documentation.
11. Review of designs and ongoing construction for conformance to current building specifications.
12. Provide critical review of current design standards to identify value engineering and design enhancement opportunities to be considered by internal engineering and schematic design partners.
13. Receipt, review, and analysis of all proposed cost and time change requests as presented by external project teams.
14. Review and guide internally requested changes for validity, impact, and ensure timely and cost sensitive incorporation once approved.
15. Lead or assist in negotiations with appropriate regulatory bodies and Authority Having Jurisdiction entities as required.
16. Positive, clear, concise, and transparent cross team communication for all aspects of project delivery.
