Job Description:
Responsible for study, design, specification and services of transportation systems (road, rail, airport, seaport), bridges, infrastructure, drainage, underground utilities, hydrology/hydraulics, water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, water resources and raw water supply, tunnels, geotechnical design, and other civil engineering works. Under general supervision, performs all conventional aspects of the functional area subject matter. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Experience in Construction planning based on design drawings. Review of EPC schedule to ensure correct sequence and duration of construction activities
Demonstrated ability to work with Engineering team and review of design drawings from constructability point of view.
Provide input to Estimator & Scheduler for Construction Manhours and review construction labor estimate
Good inter-personnel skills with ability to communicate clearly at all levels in English language.

This role is focused on a separate two-storey Mosque within the site of the King Abdul Aziz Centre for World Culture in Dhahran near the East coast of Saudi Arabia. The Mosque had a separate design team from that of the Cultural Centre and similarly has a separate Contractor.
Role Definition:
The Engineering / Construction Manager role on the project is focused on the Mosque building and is key to ensuring that the engineering aspects of the contractor’s submissions, shop drawing and interdisciplinary coordination processes are dealt with promptly, proactively and with an eye to managing the Client’s and Buro Happold’s risk. Based within the Client’s organisation, and amongst the Buro Happold Team for the Cultural Centre, the Engineering / Construction Manager will formally report to both Buro Happold and to the Client’s Team, Saudi Aramco Project Management Team (SAPMT). The successful candidate will have both technical and relationship management skills. The Engineering / Construction Manager is not expected to have full knowledge of all disciplines. They will however be expected to liaise with relevant members of the Buro Happold site-based team, with off-site specialist disciplines, and with SAPMT. The successful candidate will also be taking a lead role in ongoing dialogue with the appointed Contractor. The position is a site based appointment with the focus on supporting the contractor, the Client (Aramco) and driving the project forward.
Responsibilities:
- Assist SAPMT to monitor the Contractor’s progress.
- Provide support to SAPMT and site engineering inspectors to ensure technical compliance with the approved contract specifications, working practices and drawings.
- Liaise where necessary with, and prepare submissions for, other Saudi Aramco departments involved in the supervision.
Essential Experience:
