About the Role

To lead Egis' business development efforts in Saudi Arabia by defining, executing, and delivering growth strategies across engineering and consultancy services. The incumbent will build on market opportunities, develop strong client relationships, oversee high-value pursuits, and ensure Egis captures strategic projects aligned with both company objectives and national priorities.

  • Define and implement a kingdom-wide business development strategy, aligned with Egis' growth priorities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities in sectors such as infrastructure, transportation, energy, environment, buildings, and related engineering consultancy services.
  • Build and maintain strong senior-level relationships with government entities, major clients, developers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead and oversee the full lifecycle of proposals / tenders / EOIs from opportunity identification, through bid strategy, to contract negotiation and closure.
  • Drive and deliver revenue and profitability targets; manage the business development pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and effective resource allocation.
  • Provide market intelligence: monitor regulatory changes, client needs, sector trends, and competitor activities to inform strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with technical, commercial, operations, and delivery teams to craft compelling value propositions, ensuring solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and responsive to client needs.
  • Mentor, lead, and structure the BD team; foster capability building within BD functions (pursuit, proposal writing, client management).
  • Represent Egis externally – participate in conferences, forums, industry associations, and networking to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of the transformation initiatives, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement throughout the transformation process.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the transformation journey, ensuring successful delivery of the targeted business plan.

What do we need from you

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field; master's degree or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
  • Min 15+ years of progressive experience in business development in engineering, infrastructure, or consultancy services.
  • Proven track record of winning large-scale engineering / consultancy projects in Saudi Arabia.
  • Strong understanding of Saudi Arabia's market environment – regulations, standards, government procurement, Vision 2030 priorities, and sector drivers.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and ability to structure and close deals under complex terms.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams, working across disciplines (technical, commercial, delivery) in pursuit efforts.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability; able to balance long-term planning with immediate action.

Position Summary: The main focus of the role is to utilise your existing knowledge and experience of the localisation industry to develop new business relationships and new accounts via a direct sales approach, with full responsibility of the process from lead generation through to close and full account ownership.

Key position responsibilities:

  • Create effective approaches to drive new revenue and close new business
  • Identify, qualify, develop, and close sales opportunities
  • Develop an effective understanding of the capabilities, benefits, and competitive advantages of TransPerfect services
  • Identify prospective leads; develop new client relationships via cold calling, internet research, networking events, trade shows and direct marketing
  • Promote TransPerfect by educating clients on the company's various services
  • Present TransPerfect solutions via one-on-one, group, online and in-person meetings
  • Manage and control pricing and contractual issues by developing a thorough understanding of company procedures
  • Provide customer support and manage client expectations
  • Quote, manage and bill projects on a daily basis, coordinating with clients and production teams to ensure these run smoothly and profitably
