ROLE OVERVIEW

The Secondary Biology Teacher will collaborate within a faculty team to review, develop and deliver a curriculum consistent with the IB MYP/DP frameworks and the MYP/DP Science Subject Guides and will create and deliver units of inquiry relating to the various Science subjects. ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES The Music teacher’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Curriculum Delivery Develop and implement engaging lessons aligned with the MYP and DP frameworks. Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and inquiry-based learning. Differentiated Instruction Tailor teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive classroom environment. Encourage hands-on performance and application of learned musical skills. Inquiry-Based Learning Facilitate inquiry-based learning experiences, encouraging students to explore musical concepts independently. Guide students in developing a deep understanding of music methodology. Assessment and Feedback Develop and administer assessments to gauge student understanding and progress in music. Provide timely and constructive feedback to support students in enhancing their musical skills. Collaboration Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and create a cohesive learning experience. Foster positive relationships with other DP and MYP teachers, contributing to cross-subject connections, particularly with subjects that complement music. Professional Development Stay updated on advancements in teaching methodologies, and curriculum developments. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills. Parent and Community Engagement Communicate with parents regarding student progress and involvement in music-related activities. Collaborate with the community to enhance the music learning, and performance, experience. Other Duties Duty of care and supervision within the school campus. Offering of Extra Curricular Activities and support for Student Enrichment Experiences. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills and Experience Experience teaching (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) is preferred Experience teaching Music within recognized international curricula, within high-performing schools, is mandatory Qualifications Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Music, or a related field. Relevant Professional Teaching Qualification.
