Job Description
We are seeking an innovative R&D Manager with extensive experience in construction chemicals or specialty chemicals manufacturing to lead our Research & Development team in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of hands-on experience in chemical product development, preferably from a reputable construction chemical company .
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the R&D team in formulating, testing, and optimizing construction chemical products (e.g., adhesives, sealants, coatings, concrete additives).
- Drive innovation by developing new products and improving existing formulations to meet market demands.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality control, sales) to ensure seamless product commercialization.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify trends and technological advancements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) and environmental / safety regulations.
- Manage R&D budgets, timelines, and intellectual property (patents, trade secrets).
- Mentor junior scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Qualifications & Requirements :
- Education : Masters or PhD in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry (preferred). Bachelors degree with exceptional experience may be considered.
- Experience : 10-15 years in chemical manufacturing R&D , with a focus on construction chemicals .
- Nationality Preference : Arab candidates (excluding Egyptian & Sudanese nationals).
- Age Range : 30-37 years old.
- Must Have : Proven track record in R&D leadership from a reputable construction chemical company .
- Deep knowledge of polymer chemistry, cement chemistry, or material science .
- Strong project management and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in lab equipment, data analysis software, and regulatory standards.

- Our client is a Saudi-based manufacturer of high-quality specialty chemicals designed for thermal and membrane-based desalination plants (SWRO, BWRO) throughout the GCC and MENA regions. With a focus on innovation and performance, USCI delivers customized solutions for the water treatment sector.
- Expand the client’s desalination chemicals business across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) by leading sales strategies, building strong market partnerships, and managing distributor networks.
- Drive sales growth of desalination chemicals throughout the MENA region.
- Develop and execute account- and country-specific strategies targeting Thermal and RO desalination plants.
- Build and manage relationships with public utilities, procurement agencies, and engineering consultants.
- Evaluate, appoint, and support distributors to ensure effective market reach and customer service.
- Provide technical documentation, product samples, and application guidance to partners and customers.
- Work closely with R&D and product teams to align solutions with local market requirements.
- Monitor regional regulatory developments and tender announcements to develop competitive bid strategies.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts and support budgeting and planning processes.
- Represent the client at key trade shows, industry events, and conferences across the region.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 7 years of B2B sales experience in water treatment or specialty chemicals, ideally within desalination or industrial water management sectors.
- Demonstrated success working with government bodies and navigating public procurement in the Middle East.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is essential.
- Strong commercial mindset, technical acumen in water chemistry, and negotiation capabilities.
- Experience managing multicultural distributor networks and operating independently within a regional framework.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the MENA region.
- Preference given to candidates from Italmatch Chemicals or those with experience at BWA Water Additives.
