Overview

Responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care that transforms lives through evidence-based practices to patients in a clinical setting. The Registered Nurse assesses patient health problems and needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and maintains medical records. The role works closely with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.

Responsibilities
  1. Clinical Duties
    • Conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patient's health, including physical examinations, taking vital signs, and monitoring symptoms.
    • Develops, implements, and updates individualized care plans based on patient assessments in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
    • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and monitors for side effects or adverse reactions.
    • Provides wound care, including cleaning, dressing, and monitoring for signs of infection.
    • Assists physicians and other healthcare professionals during medical procedures and diagnostic tests.
    • Educates patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.
    • Observes and records patients' conditions, including changes in symptoms or behaviors, and reports significant changes to the medical team.
    • Responds to medical emergencies and provides immediate care as needed.
    • Conducts purposeful rounding to meet patient needs, prevent complications, and improve overall care quality.
    • Adheres to infection control standards, including hand hygiene, PPE use, and proper handling of hazardous materials.
    • Participates in infection control surveillance and reporting to help prevent facility-acquired infection.
    • Maintains the cleanliness of patient items and equipment per Fakeeh Care policies.
    • Follows established protocols for emergencies (codes, RRT) to ensure patient safety and effective response.
    • Implements evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  2. Administrative Duties
    • Maintains accurate and detailed patient care records, including observations, interventions, and responses.
    • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
    • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuous and integrated patient care.
  3. Supportive Duties
    • Provides emotional support to patients and families, addressing concerns and offering reassurance during stressful times.
    • Advocates for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring rights are respected and voices are heard.
    • Participates in ongoing education and training to stay current with medical practices and advancements.

  4. Supervision
    • Oversees the work of junior staff and nursing students and provides guidance and support as needed.
  5. Collaborative Practice

    • Identifies and addresses issues or challenges in patient care and contributes to solutions and improvements in practice.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and service-oriented mindset.

Experience: Minimum of one year of clinical experience. RN resident: staff with less than one year of experience will go through the RN residency program (Fakeeh Graduate).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Monitor vital signs of neonates, including respiration, heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.

Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment such as ventilators, incubators, and infusion pumps.

Administer medications, nutrition, and other prescribed treatments accurately and safely.

Record and update patient conditions in medical charts and electronic systems with high accuracy.

Respond promptly to any changes in patient condition and escalate critical cases to physicians.

Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the healthcare team to deliver integrated care plans.

Educate and support families, providing guidance on infant care and preparing them for discharge.

Strictly adhere to infection control, patient safety protocols, and hospital policies.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.

Professional License: Valid nursing license with current registration at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).

Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Skills:

Proficiency in neonatal critical care procedures and equipment.

Strong clinical observation, assessment, and emergency response skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to handle stressful situations and work flexible shifts.

Preferred Certifications:

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Basic Life Support (BLS).
