The Role
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide direct nursing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions, including post-operative cardiac surgery and heart failure cases. - Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and manage advanced life support equipment such as ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and cardiac monitors. - Administer cardiac medications, manage IV infusions, and titrate vasoactive drips as per protocols. - Act swiftly in emergencies such as cardiac arrest and participate in Code Blue and ACLS protocols. - Collaborate closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and other ICU team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR). - Provide compassionate support and education to patients and their families regarding cardiac conditions and treatments. - Ensure compliance with infection control measures, safety standards, and hospital policies. - Participate in unit-based audits, quality initiatives, and ongoing nursing education. - Maintain readiness and functionality of CICU equipment and supplies.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from an accredited institution. - Valid nursing license from home country (SCFHS license or eligibility preferred). - Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Cardiac ICU or equivalent critical care setting. - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. - Expertise in cardiac monitoring, ventilator support, and emergency cardiac care. - Strong communication skills, critical thinking, and emotional resilience. - Proficiency in English (Arabic language skills are a plus).

Sr Nurse Clinician - Telemetry & Cardiac Job Code

Basic Function
Provides wide range of direct and complex nursing care to Telemetry & Cardiac Care Unit & Clinic patients requiring advanced nursing skills. Functions as a preceptor and role model for new hires and other identified staff. Demonstrates effective collaboration and team behaviors. Provides clinical assistance to nurses, practical nurses, patient care assistants and nursing interns in the execution of their responsibilities and gives clinical resource support to the charge nurse.

Acts as back up charge nurse when oriented.

Scope
Working within Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare Nursing & Clinical Services Department in Dhahran, Al Hasa, Udhailiyah, Ras Tanura, and Abqaiq.

The Sr. Nurse Clinician provides complex professional nursing care to the patient using independent nursing judgment within defined programs, protocols, policies, procedures and standing orders. Receives supervision and direction from the Charge Nurse and Supervisor. Work is performed on any shift, as required, in the Telemetry & Cardiac Care Unit & Clinic of the Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) facilities.

Work hours are assigned to meet operational needs. Hours may include on call and scheduled overtime.

Direction is through the unit manager.

Principal Contacts
Ongoing with patients and their families home caregivers for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing plan of care; with new hire and newly assigned nursing staff for orientation and integration into the nursing unit; routinely with clinicians for carrying out clinician orders, assisting with medical procedures, and reporting changes in the patient's condition and/or needs. ; Ongoing with Charge Nurse for collaborating and reporting.

Occasional public and community contact through communicating policy changes, revisions, and/or introduction of new work rules.

Principal Duties

**1) ASSESSMENT**:
Acts as resource to other staff members during the assessment of complex patient/family needs.

Assists other staff members in improving their knowledge and skills, giving input when needs are identified.

Assesses the need for suitable staff development program/s in the assigned clinical area to ensure effective patient care.

**2) PLANNING**:
A. Serves as direct care clinical resource in developing, coordinating, and reviewing the patient’s plan of care.

**3) IMPLEMENTATION/INTERVENTIONS**:
Provides total, direct nursing care to patients requiring advanced, skilled or complex care.

Precepts new hires and nursing interns and mentors nursing staff with identified needs.

Sets up, monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients such as cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) machines, oxygen delivery devices, mechanical ventilators and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP).

Analyzes, interprets and records electronic displays, such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms from cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, etc.

Assists clinicians with procedures such as Central line insertions, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, endotracheal intubation, and elective cardioversion.

Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol and initiates Advanced Cardiac Life Support protocols.

Monitors patients for changes in status and indications of conditions such as sepsis or shock and institute appropriate interventions.

Prioritizes nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data and identified needs and plan of care.

Transcribes physician's orders and reviews nursing and medical orders for accuracy and appropriateness.

Assists clinicians with the more complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Performs procedures requiring advanced competency skills or training in the expanded nursing roles.
