Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Work under the management of and report to the site Superintendent in the Directorate of Aircraft Maintenance at the Base.
2. Perform repair and overhaul of avionics, electro-mechanical instruments, communications components and equipment.
3. Use layout drawings, schematics, and pictorial diagrams to solve maintenance problems and analyze construction and operating characteristics of equipment to determine the source of malfunction.
4. Apply alignment and calibration procedures to ensure maximum operating efficiency.
5. Perform alignment and calibration procedures.
6. Determine repair procedures necessary to correct defective equipment.
7. Interpret maintenance and installation policies and procedures related to avionic communications equipment.
8. Identify maintenance problem areas using information provided by the maintenance data collection system and recommend corrective actions.
9. Install, repair, overhaul electronics, electro-mechanical instruments, avionic communication systems, components, and equipment.
10. Diagnose unusual malfunctions using technical orders, mock-ups, and test equipment.
11. Perform operational checks, testing, and troubleshooting of instruments and systems.
12. Maintain and calibrate instrument systems test equipment.
13. Inspect and modify electronic and electro-mechanical instrument systems.
14. Repair unserviceable communication equipment, including interphones, emergency radios, ADF, and crash position indicators.
15. Conduct detailed tests of repaired equipment using mockups and test equipment.
16. Adjust, align, and calibrate equipment for maximum accuracy.
17. Overhaul units such as antenna tuning assemblies, transceivers, receivers, and transmitters.
18. Modify and install avionic communication equipment according to technical publications.
19. Inspect avionic communication equipment and electronic instruments to determine operational status.
20. Interpret inspection findings and determine corrective actions.
21. Supervise avionic communication repair personnel, plan and schedule work, and establish work methods and standards.
22. Assign repair functions, evaluate performance, and conduct on-the-job training, with a maximum trainer-to-trainee ratio of 1:3.

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

• The B2 Avionics Technician will be responsible to ensure optimal service support for maintenance and flight line activities to achieve the excellent fleet availability with highest quality and safety standards. The B2 Avionics Technician will also be responsible to perform detailed inspection, assembly, installation, repair or replacement of aircraft components and systems, maintenance (both scheduled and unscheduled) or refurbishing of aircraft and function check of components. The B2 Avionics Technician will perform OJT on location as required.

LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Comply with all Aviation, Safety, Quality and Export Control Regulations and Procedures

• Comply with all Airbus Helicopters Management Systems, Policies and Regulations

• Work as part of a team, specific duties will include the satisfactory performance of both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the helicopter fleet, within a customer environment

• Undertake individually or as part of a team, aircraft maintenance, repair and inspection tasks, quality checks and the completion of documentation in accordance with Company and Customer procedures

• Check every time before to start any maintenance activity tools/GSE´s for condition and expiration date, and ensure their correct use

• Check every time before starting any maintenance activity the components and parts for conditions (damages, leaks etc.) and that the applicability of the documentation is correct

• Perform electrical assembly, integration and modification, system repairs, first level Quality inspection and functional tests of aircraft and components

• Analyze performance and isolates malfunctions of integrated avionic instrument and flight control systems

• Conduct checkouts of avionic instrument and flight control systems and components (including repairs, overhauls, modifications, alignments, installation)

• Inspects avionic instrument and flight control systems

• Ensure that all work performed is recorded on the appropriate paperwork and signed for on a progressive basis

• Ensure the correct use and control of aircraft parts and materials

• Verify aircraft status regarding scheduled tasks and deferred items is updated, the aircraft condition is serviceable and sign the Release to Service of the aircraft

• Perform duties as assigned by the Site Manager, ensuring that all work is completed in a timely fashion and meets the delivery quality requirements of the Airbus

• Conduct on-the-job training activity

• Train personnel on the use of maintenance manuals

• Train personnel in all safety directives and FOD procedures

• Perform other duties as assigned
