Job Purpose:
The General Engineering Draftsman will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and updating architectural and electromechanical drawings in accordance with project requirements and design standards. This role involves close coordination with engineers and project teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with technical specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills (2D & 3D), attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality documentation in both Arabic and English.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and understand various engineering drawings (architectural and electromechanical) and draft sketches.
• Prepare architectural, electromechanical, and execution drawings based on draft sketches and designer instructions.
• Develop accurate and detailed quantity take-offs and finishing estimates in both Arabic and English, based on engineering drawings.
• Ensure all drawings and documents comply with project specifications and company standards.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and related project documentation.
• Demonstrate full proficiency in
  AutoCAD
  (2D and 3D) for preparing and editing technical drawings.
• Proficient in
  Microsoft Word
  and
  Excel
  for documentation and reporting tasks.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate technical information clearly in both Arabic and English.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related field.
• Practical experience in architectural, electromechanical, and engineering drafting.
• Strong understanding of design principles, construction details, and material specifications.
• High attention to detail and accuracy with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).

• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• If required, conduct field visits to gather necessary information and measurements for drawing creation or modification.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including drawing logs, revision records, and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to obtain necessary information and incorporate it into the drawings.
• Perform quality checks on drawings to identify errors, discrepancies, or inconsistencies and make necessary corrections.
• Assist in the preparation of project cost estimates, material take-offs, and quantity surveys.
• Stay updated with the latest AutoCAD tools, techniques, and industry trends to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree or Diploma specializing in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an AutoCAD Operator/Designer, preferably in the Telecom industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software and a strong understanding of its features and functions.
• In-depth knowledge of Telecom infrastructure design principles, standards, and practices.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations governing the Telecom industry.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to interpret engineering sketches and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drawing creation and modification.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Additional certifications in AutoCAD or Telecom-related fields are a plus.
