Job Description

Main tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  • Able to write technical reports, and treatment proposals.
  • Master the water analysis tests; provides input during the initial survey during the commissioning stage and ongoing customer service in compliance with the Application Quality Plan.
  • Responsible for providing services and assisting customers with problem-solving support regarding their products/applications/solutions.
  • Provide on-site field service and over-the-phone or on-site assistance.
  • Conduct site surveys, and product/application/system audits.
  • Discuss and advise clients regarding results obtained from sampling; establishes and meets customer needs when adjusting the treatment program as well as ensuring the satisfactory performance of the plant; advises clients regarding the possibility of upgrading and improvements the company can provide.
  • Chemical preparation and dosing in the sites.
  • Supervises chemical cleaning and disinfecting operations; carries out on-site chemicals inventory; ensures P.O. as necessary is submitted by clients and that deliveries are prompt.
  • Ensures all standard equipment and reagents for the laboratory and field analysis work are properly maintained; prepares site/field analysis reports; maintains meticulous records of all tests etc.
  • Performs any other work-related duties as directed by the Chemical Business Manager- Western Province or his designee.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Chemistry or Chemical Engineering


Experience: 2 - 4 years of experience as an application in cooling water treatment applications in the Steel Industry.

    As a Turbomachinery Application Engineer, you will be responsible for developing creative and robust solutions and turning them into effective proposals for Baker Hughes's customer/client base.

    As a Turbomachinery Application Engineer, you will be responsible for:


    • Preparing the technical proposals of rotating equipment (auxiliary systems) and participating in negotiating proposed solutions, including but not limited to technical solutions and cost,s etc.

    • Experience in handling Minor Breakdowns in GC, GCMS, LC, LCMS or Spectroscopy
    • Experience in imparting User Trainings on Familiarization of the Instrument
    • Experience in Method Developments
    • Genuine Passion for Customer Satisfaction
    • Good in Internal and External Communication
    • UAE Drivers’ license would be preferred but is not compulsory

    The opportunity

    We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Transformer Application Engineer to join our team. In this role you will be bringing the knowledge of a senior specialist in our Transformers portfolio to Customers, ensuring mutual trust while also communicating with customers on technical preferences, imparting training and presenting Hitachi Energy transformer solutions. You will be leading the regional business development and sales of Transformer solutions including digitalization, covering whole digital portfolio, tracking the market trends, and securing the anticipated growth impact. You will be developing and implementing a regional sales strategy aligned with global strategy to increase customer penetration through engagement with Front End teams, distribution channel and through promotion of Digital and Sustainable Transformer solutions.

    How you’ll make an impact

    • Adopting and supporting global transformer strategy and portfolio deployments in the HUB to Customers and Hitachi Energy with focus on
    • Contributing to bringing short, medium & long-term results via support to the sales and execution teams in a cradle to grave approach. Includes activity at Customer pre-tender/conceptual stage, Customer, tender strategy development, technical tender clarification, order execution technical support, problem resolution and clarification, FAT support and post-delivery technical issue resolution.
    • Establishing and demonstrating industry leading business and technical knowledge leadership by organizing and conducting technical trainings / webinars / presentations via both Hitachi Energy and industry platforms.
    • Including and translating the knowledge of previous transformer design experience into Customer relevant knowledge.
    • Leading the regional Application Engineering & Business Development activities related to the transformer portfolio by understanding Market
    • Trends and secure the anticipated growth and have positive impact on ROMI.
    • Fulfilling the Customer facing dimensions, activities shall include organizing and conducting Customer Technical Trainings (CTT’s), attending industry conferences, customer visits, specification influencing recommendations & reviews, tender negotiation clarification, off cycle technical
    • and knowledge support to customer contacts.
    • Fulfilling the internal Hitachi Energy facing dimensions, activities shall include internal technical training (HIIT’s) and Customer relationship presentations, tender strategy & negotiation recommendations. Engage factory and tender engineering teams to develop and deploy trust, acceptance and team integration, Customer support during FAT, post order problem solving.
    • Developing and implementing KPI’s and targets for the Transformer portfolio to provide visibility of activity and outcomes in the dimensions listed above. The metrics for her/his performance review might include the number of CTT’s, HIIT’s, specifications influenced.
    • Contributing to and following a structured market plan combining the technical info gathered with customers while deploying a strategic overview mindset.
    • Ensuring that all Customer interactions are reported in SFDC and pursue its support by the M&S team of the Hub.
    • Ability to develop one’s own technical presentations, additionally use colleagues and BL technical presentations supported by underlying deep understanding of the topics.
    • Deep understanding of all transformer portfolio for different segments and applications and will support from a technical knowledge point of view the WCFE Team for the Marketing and Sales activities of the HUB and represent the interests of the GPG/BL in the given Country/Region.
    • Providing customer feedback as well as strategic marketing inputs to GPG / GPMM and support the market analysis validation and competitive landscape and heat maps.
    • Supporting and engaging closely within Application Engineering teams

    Your background

    • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. A master’s degree is a plus
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical department (R&D, Engineering or Design) and Project Management or Product Marketing,
    • Sales and Business development in the assigned sector, associated with transformer businesses.
    • Strong technical skills, in addition to the marketing experience, to be able to bridge the gap between
    • technical and marketing teams in the company.in industry technical bodies (CIGRE, IEC etc.) is a plus.
    • Excellent networking skills matured in a highly international organization, “leading by influence.”
    • Change management experience is a strong plus.
    • Intercultural sensitivity is required, with excellent communication skills in oral and written, with colleagues from multi-countries for assigned region. A strong grasp of the local language.
    • Be willing to travel ~ 50%.
    • Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.

    Responsibilities

    • Well verse with various customer standards and API standards.
    • Ensure to meet team and individual KPI.
    • Understanding of mechanical drawings and codes for day-to-day work.
    • Lead technical discussion / presentation at customer site supporting sales team
    • Coordination with internal department for achieving company goals.
    • Identify the bottlenecks and provide solutions proactively.
    • Generate opportunities with sales team.
    • Manage effectively warranty cases in liaison with Service & Engineering, in the interest of EBKSA business policies.
    • Lead and coordinate internally to ensure all processes are completed on time.
    • Take the lead in resolving customer complaints related to contract.
    • Maintaining quality management system and developing awareness of importance of the QMS throughout the organization.
    • Coordination with IP team on non –strategic projects, wherever necessary.
    • Coordinating/Conducting customer training.
    • RCA and troubleshooting support.
    • Record keeping of all bad actors.
    • Manage upgrade and retrofit cases.

    Qualifications

    • B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ technical experience working in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or related industries.
    • Have knowledge of pumps construction, commissioning, O&M, and Seals.
    • Have good trouble shooting skills, RCA techniques (able to manage internally and lead those discussions).
    • Have good understanding of failure analysis techniques.
    • Experience with large and complex organizations.
    • Appropriate computer and IT systems skills/knowledge (MS office, document management), experience with processes, data structures and atomization of reporting and analysis
    • Fluent English (spoken and written).
