Accounting Supervisor
Responsibilities:
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
General Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Responsible for general ledger and financial statements.
- and ensures financial statements are prepared on time.
- Oversees the balance sheet schedules and reconciliations.
- Ensures all accounting transactions are fully compliant with internal controls, IFRS and SOCPA standards.
- Prepares timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, financial reporting pack, balance sheet schedules, and all other regular reports.
- Prepares ad hoc reports pertaining to your areas of responsibility and other requests.
Cash Management
- Oversees all all-banking matters (LC, LG, confirmations, authority changes & other requests).
- Manages time deposits efficiently.
- Ensures monthly bank reconciliations are performed on time.
- Ensures petty cash scheduled counts and surprise counts are conducted.
Tax
- Plans and conducts monthly VAT returns.
- Files for monthly and annual WHT returns.
- Prepares quarterly acceleration tax returns.
- Plays a lead role in zakat and tax audits.
Audits and Others
- Assists in internal audit requirements.
- Plays a lead role in financial audits.
- Plays a lead role in VAT audits and final tax assessments.
- Oversees AP and AR functions and ensure all tasks are completed properly.
- Communicates and promotes the company's vision with respect to HSE standards, behaviors, and performance.
- Acts as back up during the absence of team members or during peak periods.
- Undertakes any other duties, accountabilities, and responsibilities, as directed.
AUTHORITY/LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides technical guidance to co-workers.
- Supervises work of subordinates within a small work unit.
- Accountable for unit deliverables.
Requirements:
- BS Accounting/Commerce/Finance and at least 7 years significant experience.
- Membership in a recognized professional association e.g., CPA/CA/CMA is desirable.
- Experience in providing financial, commercial, performance management and/or strategic planning support to a mid-size organization.
- Intermediate understanding of accounting and finance and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/ fields.
- Intermediate understanding of applicable company and GAZT legislation and regulations and IFRS and GAAP accounting standards.
- Intermediate Microsoft office suite skills and exposure to financial, budgeting and planning ERP systems.
- Proven ability to communicate complex financial information in a concise, non-technical manner, think creatively, strategically and act tactically.
- High standards of accuracy and precision with excellent organizational and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Professional certification preferred: CPA, SOCPA, or VAT Specialist.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of IFRS, Zakat & Tax regulations, and statutory compliance.
- Knowledge of financial systems and internal control frameworks.
- Experience in the insurance sector and knowledge of Insurance Authority regulations.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
