Our Accounting Advisory Consulting team currently has exciting opportunities within its Accounting Advisory offering. Our team advises clients on a wide range of transactions, identifying issues and providing accounting options and solutions that meet our client's objectives. Roles & Responsibilities
The role sits within a commercially focused technical accounting team in PwC, which will provide a fantastic development opportunity for the candidate to develop accounting and reporting skills alongside the opportunity to work on a number of iconic accounting and reporting transformation projects.
Required
As a Senior Associate, you will be required to assist the team managers to deliver on complex accounting advisory engagements with a variety of clients. This will involve:
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, its practical and commercial applications to provide clients with advice that address their objectives
- Ability to conduct in depth research on complex accounting matters, prepare technical papers for discussion with senior team members and apply critical thinking.
- Strong task management skills as the delivery role may require you working potentially on multiple projects requiring a balance and management of tasks and commitments on these projects.
- Interacting and developing relationships with key client staff and engaging in a professional and confident manner.
- Develop and build positive relationships with both the client staff and internal PwC team members including with the other PwC lines of services (such as tax, legal, deals, etc.).
Skills And Competencies
- In-depth understanding of IFRS and general accounting principles.
- Strong interest and passion for enhancing technical accounting skills.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability and willingness to travel within the Middle East based on the project and client requirements.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team with a fast paced and a high energy that will translate into a high-quality output.
- Excellent organizational skills, having the ability to prioritize workload whilst being resilient and being able to cope well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
Education
Educational Qualifications & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business studies, accounting, or finance.
- Certification in accounting: ACA, ACCA, CPA, or similar accounting certification.
Experience
- 3 - 5 years of audit or other relevant experience in a Big 4 firm.
- Accounting Advisory / consulting experience is beneficial.
- Experience in the GCC is beneficial.

Your Key Responsibilities
In this role, you'll work directly with a diverse range of clients across various industries to assess the impact of new accounting standards, proposed transactions, or other regulatory changes. Specifically, you will:
- Build and maintain strong networks internally and externally
- Report directly to Managers, Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners during the planning, execution, and wrap-up stages of FAAS engagements.
- Provide accounting advisory services to guarantee compliance with IFRS and IPSAS standards.
- Assist clients in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring they meet IFRS and IPSAS requirements.
- Provide guidance on the adoption of new accounting standards and the impact on financial reporting.
- Collaborate with clients to streamline their accounting processes and improve overall efficiency in financial reporting.
- Consult with appropriate resources on complex accounting issues, ensuring that FAAS work products meet client needs, are clear, accurate, and well-presented.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial accounting and reporting.
- Ensure that work is of high quality, delivered in a timely fashion, and in compliance with EY policies.
- Work with other EY locations, service lines, and specialists to deliver a fully integrated service offering.
- Identify and communicate relevant trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to the client.
