Postdoctoral Researcher - RF/mmWave Integrated Circuits The Integrated Telecommunications and Sensing Systems (ITASS) Lab at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of RF/mmWave Integrated Circuits to contribute to pioneering research in wireless communications and sensing systems. The successful candidate will participate in the design, prototyping, and experimental validation of integrated circuits for phased-array transceivers, operating in the 60-140 GHz range. These systems target advanced applications such as 6G wireless networks, high-resolution radar, and joint communication and sensing (JCAS). You will join a multidisciplinary and well-funded research environment with full access to world-class infrastructure, including advanced EDA tools, cleanroom nanofabrication, RF/mmWave test labs, and multi-project wafer (MPW) tapeouts. The position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in RFIC design who are motivated to publish in top-tier IEEE conferences and journals (ISSCC, RFIC, IMS, JSSC, TMTT) and contribute to next-generation wireless and sensing technologies. Skills/Qualifications PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with a focus on RFIC/mmWave integrated circuit design. Strong experience in designing RF/mmWave circuits such as LNAs, mixers, PAs, VCOs, or phased-array front-ends. Proficiency in EDA tools (Cadence Virtuoso, ADS) and EM simulation tools ( HFSS, EMX, etc.). Hands-on experience with full custom IC tapeout in CMOS or SiGe technologies. Familiarity with high-frequency measurements using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and probe stations. Track record of publications in relevant IEEE conferences and journals (e.g., ISSCC, RFIC, IMS, JSSC, TMTT). Specific Requirements Preferred: Experience in phased-array system design, beamforming techniques, or JCAS architectures. Knowledge of mmWave packaging, PCB integration, or antenna-on-chip/antenna-in-package concepts. Background in system-level co-design (hardware/software integration, MATLAB or Python modeling). The Administrator / Document Controller will manage administrative operations and document control processes within the Division. The role ensures efficient handling of sensitive documentation, compliance with Client standards, and support for governance, risk, and compliance activities across major projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Document Control :
  • Establish and maintain document control systems for departmental records, including policies, procedures, risk registers, compliance reports, correspondence, and audit documentation.

  • Creation of Project Directory in the Aconex Project and time-to-time update of the project directory as well as removal of project participants as and when, if required.

  • Generating the Outstanding Reports from the Aconex on a Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly as well as Monthly basis as and when required by the Client as well as other stakeholders of the project for KPI purposes.
  • Follow-up with the Team as well as other stakeholders for the outstanding documents to close out.
  • Assisting in ensuring the standard document management system is set up & maintained as per requirements.

The Client requires the placement of a Senior Project Manager (SPM) to serve as the key interface link between the Client (RCU's Development teams) and Third-Party Developers (TPD). This role is focused on process coordination, workflow mapping, and issue resolution to ensure smooth interactions across the ecosystem. Working closely with Development Directors and Managers, the SPM will identify and track blockages, propose practical resolutions, and ensure TPD deliverables are aligned with RCU requirements.

This is a senior-level professional, project based in AlUla KSA. To assist the Client the role requires active and direct involvement, strong leadership and communication skills, project development management skills, Client/Investor interface experience, and a comprehensive understanding of the various Asset types and general development processes and procedures aligned with RIBA Plan of Works.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and regular communication with key stakeholders, including client's management, Third-Party Developers, D&C (RIBA 0&1 Commercial and Business Case), RCU Security, regulatory authorities, and other relevant parties.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Management: Success is dependent on the facilitation of close collaboration between the Client and Third-Party Developers to achieve a mutually agreed outcome and agreement.
  • Project Governance & Guidelines: Implement the Client requirements to ensure the Third-Party has clarity of the workflow process and deliverable requirements.
  • Project Planning (limited): In consultation with RCU's Development teams, develop initial project plans, project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.   • Budget Management (limited): Budgets establish by the Client to be managed and controlled, ensuring that the project is delivered within the allocated financial constraints. This involvement is limited as the land deals and land values will be managed in entirety by D&C Real Estate. The production of the ROM for assets to aid in informing the land values will be undertaken in the annual plan by D&C Commercial.
  • Risk Assessment (Technical): Identify potential risks and challenges throughout the project lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies to address them effectively.
  • RCU Commercial to give their assessment of commercial and financial risks.
  • RCU Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that the project adheres to all RCU Guidelines such as applicable Healthcare or Education or Residential projects regulations, safety standards, security requirements (strategy & stage gates) and legal requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: QAQC by parties producing deliverables to be monitored to maintain a high-quality standard throughout the project, ensuring that all deliverables meet established criteria. Other than plot specifics (title deeds, affection plans, Geotech surveys), there should be minimal design management with Third-Party Developers as the intent is to have County Ops Manage from RIBA 2 - 4.
  • Progress Tracking and Reporting: Regularly track project progress and provide status reports to stakeholders.
  • Contract Management: Report on the status of Client and Third-Party Developer negotiations, drafting of Contract Agreement by the Client appointed Consultant and Conract agreement.
  • Change Management: Ensure that any modifications are documented and communicated appropriately.

Requirements:

Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or project management, or a related field is typically required. Advanced certifications (PMP) in project management can be advantageous.

Experience: Project Management at development stage with extensive experience (10+ years) with various Asset types.

Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of various Asset types, including its regulations, best practices, and emerging trends.
