A leading international engineering consultancy is seeking experienced Welding Inspectors to support a major infrastructure programme based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. These long-term roles are part of the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, focused on the delivery of water infrastructure projects including pipelines, tanks, and pumping stations.

Role Overview
As Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring all welding activities on site. You’ll ensure full compliance with project specifications, welding codes, and approved procedures, and coordinate with QA/QC and contractor teams to resolve technical issues and ensure high-quality execution.

Key Responsibilities
• Inspect joint preparation, fit-up, welding process, and post-weld operations
• Ensure compliance with approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and WPQ (Welder Performance Qualifications)
• Monitor preheating, interpass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment
• Witness and review NDT procedures including RT, UT, PT, and MT
• Issue inspection reports and NCRs for non-compliant works
• Maintain documentation for weld maps, material traceability, and inspection logs
• Coordinate with QA/QC and site teams on welding-related technical issues

Requirements
• BSc in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of welding inspection experience
OR Diploma in a related field with 7+ years of experience
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI, CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent) – mandatory
• Solid understanding of ASME, API, AWS, and ISO welding standards
• Hands-on experience in inspection of infrastructure or utility welding works
• Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)

Preferred
• Experience inspecting buried pipelines, stainless steel piping, or pressure systems
• Background in water transmission or wastewater infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with digital weld tracking and documentation systems

• Ensure the supervision of welding inspection activities and verify the implementation of Quality Control Plans.
• Support the Quality Control Manager (QCM) / Quality Control Coordinator (QCC) in supervising project Quality Control activities.

• Check Quality Control Plans related to welding activities.
• Verify the availability and adequacy of consumables and equipment/instrumentation used for welding execution and control.
• Ensure materials and equipment are correctly received, stored, preserved, calibrated, handled, identified, and traceable.
• Support the evaluation of inspection personnel qualifications, verify work procedures, including those for special processes.
• Assist in defining QC Information System rules.
• Supervise and witness inspections, review reports and documentation issued by inspectors, and verify collection of Quality Records.
• Ensure tests, controls, and inspections are performed according to Quality Control Plans / Inspection Test Plans, and relevant documentation is collected, including for mechanical completion approval.
• For subcontracted activities, verify correct implementation of approved Quality Control Plans / Inspection Test Plans, witness inspections, and collect relevant records.
• Verify the collection and proper management of documents certifying tests, controls, and inspections, ensuring records are retrievable within the final As-Built dossier.
• Assist in preparing the Quality works dossier for final handover to the Document Controller.
• Ensure the NCR management process is in place and effective.
• On vessels, support the QCM / QCC in planning and allocating QC Inspector and Pipe Tally functions, ensuring coordination.
• In vessels without NDT Supervisor / Operators and with approval from the NDT Department, carry out NDT inspections (UT, MT, PT, or other methods), interpreting results per qualified procedures.

Description

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
The Foreman, Welding is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily welding/gouging activities onboard ships and rigs and at workshop.

This role ensures that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and the International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS).

The Foreman works closely with Welding Chargehands, Welders, the Welding Supervisor, QC, Safety and other departments to monitor progress, manage manpower, and address site issues, ensuring timely and successful completion of assigned scopes.

Key Accountabilities

Ensure all work activities are carried out in strict compliance with IMI Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and the International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS).
Receive job scope, priorities, and workforce planning instructions from the Supervisor; ensure proper distribution of work among Chargehands and tradesmen.
Supervise all aspects of onboard piping fabrication, installation, removal, and testing activities, ensuring tasks are executed to the specified technical and safety standards.
Lead 2-3 welding chargehands with their teams’ tradesmen/welders, distributing tasks efficiently and monitoring workmanship and time usage.
Excellent knowledge of welding, materials and grades, tools and welding equipment.
Coordinate the Workfront progress with internal stakeholders including QA/QC, Safety, Planning, and Logistics.
Plan daily manpower allocation and shift schedules to ensure productivity targets are met and critical path activities are prioritized.
Conduct daily toolbox talks, ensure PTWs are in place, and verify that all crew members are using proper PPE and safety practices.
Identify scope variations, additional works, or constraints (e.g., access, material shortage) and escalate promptly to the Supervisor.
Verify work completion through daily inspections, record progress, and ensure all documentation (weld logs, test reports, etc.) is up to date.
Guide and mentor Chargehands and tradesmen including subcontractors in safe work practices, quality awareness, and productivity improvement.
Ensure proper housekeeping onboard, including waste removal, scrap management, and restoring work areas to clean conditions at shift end.
Coordinate the shift handover process, ensuring accurate communication of work status, pending items, and safety concerns to incoming teams.
Support training, multi-skilling, and development programs for assigned personnel to improve capability and performance.
Follow and implement any other business-related demands as requested by the line manager.
Monitor the actual onboard progress versus the planned one and take appropriate steps to correct the delays if any.
Training and development of tradesmen personnel whenever it is required.
Regularly visit project work whether in workshops, onboard, in docks, or other open areas where welding activities are taking place to check on progress and give technical advice and guidance.
Ensure all control measures are in place for safety, environmental aspects and housekeeping.
Follow and implement any other business-related demands as requested by the line manager.

Education

Completion of a technical secondary school

Competencies

In-depth knowledge of all welding processes, techniques, and materials used in MRO for ships and rigs in a shipyard environment.

Familiarity with relevant industry standards, quality control procedures, and dimensional tolerances.
Supervisory skills, hands-on and tools and welding equipment knowledge.
Planning & Execution: Skilled in daily task planning, progress monitoring, and resource allocation.

Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified QCS Welding Supervisor to lead and manage welding operations in the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate will possess substantial supervisory experience and hold Aramco approval.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise Welding Activities: Ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements throughout all welding operations.

Implement Procedures: Oversee the application of welding procedures in compliance with Aramco Schedule-Q.

Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to welding teams, ensuring they are well-trained and knowledgeable about best practices.

Certifications: Valid Aramco approval is required; additional certifications related to welding supervision are advantageous.
