Job Summary:
The role will be responsible for the full day-to-day Warehousing Operations, steering the operational teams, ensuring high quality execution of all warehouse related activities. Daily liaising both with clients and internal stake holders, improving overall efficiency and increasing departmental profits while managing the warehousing performance.
The role will oversee a wide variety of elements in the warehousing business, including hiring staff, operating within budget, reporting, and setting plus beating challenging KPI’s for growth and customer satisfaction. Key element to achieve these goals and parameters, is to build and ensure a highly motivated team that is productive, agile and customer centric.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring all KPI’s & SLA’s and internal checklists are met or exceeded with particular emphasis on productivity, quality, Client Metrics, Direct Labor Cost & Kronos metrics. This includes monitoring adherence to agreed Corporate Security Guidelines (XSSR) and dock security issues for those locations where these guidelines are applicable.
- Responsible for providing effective leadership to the team, enforcing company standards, act as a role model.
- Interviewing, coaching, training, monitoring and appraisal of direct reports (including disciplinary procedures, sickness management, vacation management, business continuity and succession planning – (all in accordance with company policy and procedures).
- Direct responsible for daily P&L (incl. explanation for the results).
- Actively participate or generate in Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) throughout the operation and lead BPI projects where applicable (green belt).
- Responsible for ensuring all internal checklists are met or exceeded with particular emphasis on do we do what we have to do on a daily basis to ensure the quality, productivity, etc.
- Plan and co-ordinate all activities for NPI’s and special events in conjunction with the other managers.
- Proving quotes, workbooks and reports for reworks and other activities.
- Responsible for cost control within the department with particular emphasis on budget.
- Responsible for capturing non system driven costs / revenue opportunities an correctly reporting and documenting these.
Accountability:
- To provide on time and accurate KPI’s and other information as defined by Business Unit Manager
- Sickness and absenteeism levels within the department.
- Kronos Timecard exceptions completed on time (whole shift or department).
- Capa’s , 5C’s, PS8’s & customer complaints/escalations.
- Direct responsible for P&L Performance.
- Owner of processes and procedures.
Education & Experience:
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills in English (spoken, reading, writing)
- Ability to work under pressure and work with changing priorities & deadlines, “can do” mentality.
- Degree level education or qualified by experience.
- Process thinking and ability to translate improvements into actions.
- Minimum 3-5 Years management experience in a similar role
- PC literate – able to use Microsoft Office – essential for reporting.
- Possess a high level of numeracy and literacy skills with ability to track budgets.
- Quality systems knowledge to a high level required and quality driven in general.
