Job Summary:

This is a leadership-focused client-facing role responsible for overseeing complex tax compliance and advisory engagements. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in managing a portfolio of clients, supervising project delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance, and identifying opportunities for process improvements and client support. The role includes mentoring junior team members, building relationships with clients and tax authorities, and supporting strategic business development initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and review complex corporate tax compliance engagements and ensure timely filing.
  • Provide strategic guidance on tax compliance, reporting, and planning for clients.
  • Liaise with tax authorities on behalf of clients and manage audit defense processes.
  • Review and sign off on technical tax reports, memos, and advisory documents.
  • Advice on tax implications related to mergers, restructuring, and cross-border transactions.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update clients on the impact.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality and risk management protocols.
  • Oversee financial analyses, reconciliations, and review of tax accounts.
  • Manage client relationships, identify new opportunities, and support proposal development.
  • Coach, train, and mentor junior team members and provide performance feedback.
  • Represent the tax team in internal and external meetings and contribute to thought leadership.
  • Stay current with domestic and international tax laws and market trends.

Qualifications:

Education requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- CPA, ACCA, CTA, ACA or equivalent certification is a must.

Work experience requirements:

- Minimum 7 years of experience in tax advisory and compliance.

- At least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant manager role.

- Experience within a consultancy or Big Four environment is highly preferred.

Knowledge / Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of local and international tax regulations (e.g., OECD, BEPS).
  • Knowledge in Saudi Tax and Zakat Law is a plus.
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, tax accounting, tax opinion and drafting advice.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with ERP or tax automation tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.

Your key duties

We are seeking a highly competent and proactive Tax Manager to join our finance team in Riyadh. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with local tax regulations and timely returns, overseeing tax reporting and audits, and delivering strategic tax guidance to support business operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting and providing tax oversight for all Group entities involved in projects across Saudi Arabia, promoting best practices and compliance to both local and international regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all applicable tax regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including Zakat, Value Added Tax (VAT), and Withholding Tax. Coordinate with external tax advisors and government authorities to ensure accurate interpretation and application of tax laws.
  • Tax Reporting & Filing: Prepare, review, and submit timely and accurate tax returns and statutory filings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Maintain comprehensive documentation to support all tax positions taken.
  • Audit Management: Lead the preparation for and management of internal and external tax audits. Develop detailed audit schedules, respond to audit queries, and ensure timely resolution of any issues raised by auditors or tax authorities.
  • Regulatory Monitoring & Advisory: Continuously monitor changes in local and regional tax legislation. Assess the impact of regulatory developments on the business and provide timely updates and recommendations to senior management.
  • Policy & Process Development: Develop and maintain robust internal tax policies and procedures. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, legal, procurement, and operations teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions. Provide guidance on tax implications of contracts, transactions, and new business initiatives.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate tax risks. Ensure appropriate controls are in place to manage tax exposures and maintain compliance with internal governance standards.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Support the development of tax awareness across the organisation by delivering training sessions and providing guidance to non-finance stakeholders.


Your Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. A recognised professional qualification such as CPA, ACA, or ACCA is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 7–8 years of progressive experience in tax management, ideally within the engineering, manufacturing, or industrial sectors. Experience in a multinational environment is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of KSA tax laws, including Zakat, VAT, and Withholding Tax.
  • Familiarity with international tax principles and transfer pricing regulations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using tax compliance software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
  • Arabic language skills are highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

**Permanent Establishment (PE)**

**Deferred Tax Accounting**

**Tax Risk Management**

**Tax Planning**

**Qualification and Experience**

Job Summary :

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead the tax advisory function on a consulting basis. The role encompasses tax planning, compliance oversight, and transaction advisory, while also focusing on translating tax strategy into actionable execution plans , preparing C-level presentations (decks) , and leading cross-functional tax projects . The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead and oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and controversy management

Design and implement tax strategies to optimize efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance

Provide strategic tax advisory on complex transactions including M&A, restructurings, and financing arrangements

Translate tax policy and regulatory requirements into operational frameworks and clear executive deliverables

Prepare professional tax decks and strategic reports for executive leadership and key stakeholders

Manage tax audits and disputes; liaise with regulatory authorities as required

What You'll Do
As a Direct Tax Manager within the Cisco EMEA Tax team you will be in charge of Cisco s Direct tax affairs for Saudi Arabia, including optimising and maintaining Cisco s Direct tax position in the territory.
You will be responsible for performing, monitoring, maintaining and continuously improving end-to-end Direct tax support in Saudi Arabia, including with respect to:
• Tax compliance cycle;
• Direct Tax planning projects;
• Direct Tax and Transfer Pricing audits;
• Liaising and managing the Direct Tax relationship with the Saudi Arabian tax authorities;
• Direct Tax cross functional business support including Deals, Supply Chain, Treasury, Technical Services and Replacement spare parts, to enable the business in a tax efficient and compliant way;
• Managing and controlling any uncertain Direct tax positions;
• Advising and/or performing a consulting role for Direct tax matters;
• Supporting mergers, acquisitions, integrations and business restructurings;
• Reviewing key legislation and regulatory developments in your assigned countries as well as OECD/G20 international tax developments; and
• Co-ordinating EMEA theatre direct tax support for discreet functional areas (e.g., Deals or M&A)
Our minimum requirements for this role include:
• Fluency in English & Arabic
• University Degree in Tax / Law, Finance or Accounting
• Minimum 6 years in International Taxation and/or Direct Tax related role
