AtkinsRéalis seeks a proactive and qualified Environmental & Sustainability Engineer to join its project supervision team on a Roads and Infrastructure Project. The role focuses on ensuring environmental compliance, implementing sustainability measures, and supporting the contractor’s environmental management plans aligned with Ashghal's guidelines, Qatar Construction Standards (QCS), and local authority requirements.


The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in infrastructure projects focusing on environmental management and sustainability in Qatar.


Responsibilities:


  • Monitor the contractor’s implementation of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and ensure compliance with permits and conditions.
  • Support sustainability best practices, including material reuse, energy efficiency, and low-impact construction.
  • Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and site assessments to ensure mitigation measures are in place.
  • Prepare and submit regular environmental and sustainability compliance reports.
  • Review and approve contractor submissions related to environmental protection and landscape management.
  • Liaise with MME, Ashghal's Environmental Department, and other authorities for approvals and inspections.

Position Overview

Kawar Energy is seeking a qualified Energy Engineer to support the expansion of its Energy Management Services division. The role focuses on leading energy audits in alignment with ASHRAE standards levels I, II & III.   8. Prepare financial models, including ROI, lifecycle costs, and IRR.
  9. Generate Energy Audit Reports and lead ASHRAE Energy Audit Levels 1, 2 & 3.
  10. Propose solutions to enhance energy efficiency in existing and new buildings.
  11. Apply knowledge of ASHRAE energy codes and standards.
  12. Utilize energy simulation tools.
  13. Implement ECMs based on BMS controls.
  14. Ensure proper functioning and calibration of energy consumption instrumentation.
  15. Develop and validate detailed Energy Audit Reports based on ASHRAE Level 3.
  16. Calculate energy savings for various facilities.
  17. Support the MV team in preparing initial and final MV plans.
  18. Develop performance contracting proposals.
  19. Collaborate on measurement and verification contract documents, ensuring data accuracy.
  20. Maintain attention to detail and adherence to M&V protocols in performance reports.
  21. Review RFPs and coordinate proposal submissions.

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist with Refinery Experience to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence organization, working under the Decarbonization and Sustainability Division to focus on environmental protection and performance aspects.

The Decarbonization and Sustainability Division supports Saudi Aramco's global manufacturing facilities and affiliates in assessing and advising on decarbonization, energy, and environmental programs. This includes identifying operational challenges and developing engineering solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce GHG emissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor facility operations and business plans to ensure alignment with Saudi Aramco's environmental policies and standards.
  • Identify deviations and develop solutions to mitigate environmental risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct environmental assessments, including GHG evaluations, and provide recommendations.
  • Develop and review GHG management strategies.
  • Perform internal GHG assessments for refineries, NGL plants, petrochemical, and lube manufacturing facilities.
  • Monitor disposal and waste management to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee air quality, wastewater, water conservation, and waste performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement environmental management systems aligned with ISO14001.
  • Maintain environmental procedures and guidelines.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies among oil and gas facilities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
  • At least 17 years of experience in oil and gas refineries or petrochemicals; EPI/QEP certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry environmental challenges and risks.
  • Understanding of global and governmental environmental policies and standards.
  • Expertise in sustainability data, calculation methodologies, and limitations.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with ISO-14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Experience in developing decarbonization roadmaps, GHG emission baselines, and target setting.
