Position Summary

The Quality Control (QC) Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all QC activities within SVax's Jeddah biomanufacturing facility. This role combines hands-on laboratory leadership with strategic planning, budgeting and team management to ensure analytical integrity, operational efficiency and strict adherence to cGMP standards. The QC Manager will partner closely with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Engineering to drive continuous improvement, maintain robust QC systems and deliver timely, compliant testing services in support of product release and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Operational Leadership:

• Develop and implement the QC department's multi-year strategy, aligning objectives with corporate goals and facility commissioning milestones.
• Prepare and manage the annual QC budget, monitor expenditures and report on cost variances.
• Define and track department OKRs, leveraging data to drive process enhancements and resource optimization.

Laboratory Oversight & Methodology

• Oversee laboratory setup, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and routine performance of all QC instruments and equipment.
• Approve and supervise transfer, development and validation of analytical methods for raw materials, in-process samples and finished products.
• Ensure strict compliance with cGMP, ICH, SFDA and applicable global guidelines through maintained SOPs and documented change controls.

Team Management & Development

• Lead, mentor and evaluate a multidisciplinary QC team (Specialists, Analysts and Technicians), conducting regular performance reviews and setting individual development plans.
• Identify training needs; deliver or source competency-based programs to build technical skills and regulatory awareness across the department.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement by facilitating cross-functional workshops and CAPA initiatives.

Quality Systems & Compliance

• Maintain an audit-ready QC laboratory by overseeing internal self-inspections, reviewing non-conformances and driving timely CAPA closures.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to update Quality Management System documentation, ensuring integration of QC inputs.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing and Engineering on deviations, investigations and change controls affecting QC processes.

Metrics & Reporting

• Establish and monitor KPIs to measure lab performance, turnaround times, assay reliability and cost-efficiency.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly QC performance reports for senior leadership, highlighting trends, risks and improvement actions.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Quality Control (QC) Manager role at SVax's biomanufacturing facility in Jeddah, candidates should meet the following criteria:

Educational Background:

A Master's or doctorate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field is required. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., ASQ-CQE, GMP certifications) are a plus.

Industry Experience:

A minimum of 8–10 years of relevant experience in Quality Control within the pharmaceutical or biomanufacturing sector, including 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in a cGMP-regulated environment is essential.

Technical Skills:
