Assists in providing medical care in the field of General Radiation Oncology and supervises interns and residents, in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and the hospital’s policies and procedures.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Assists the Consultants in providing patient care and management in General Radiation Oncology, following standards of medical care.
• Performs assessments, examinations, compiles case histories, and assists in diagnosis and management based on diagnostic manuals.
• Registers medical history, conducts physical examinations, and develops patient management plans, documenting progress and orders.
• Provides on-call coverage on a rotational basis during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Participates in ward rounds, documents findings, and follows up on investigations to modify treatment as needed.
• Attends clinics and shares on-call duties as required.
• Performs additional clinical duties as assigned.

Academic Responsibilities:

• Provides orientation, bedside training, and supervision for interns, residents, and fellows.
• Keeps updated with latest techniques and implements relevant advancements to improve standards.
• Participates in educational activities and conferences at national and international levels.

Graduation from a recognized medical school, completion of postgraduate training in a specialty/subspecialty with Saudi, American, Canadian, or UK certification, or equivalent as approved by the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee.

Minimum of two (2) years of specialty and subspecialty training plus post-training experience.

Responsibilities:

• Order tests — including biopsy, blood, and imaging — to confirm a diagnosis
• Provide patients with detailed information regarding cancer, their prognosis, and possible interventions or treatment options
• Develop appropriate treatment plans, with measurable goals, that provide the highest level of care while conforming to patient preference
• Maintain quality of life for patients by managing cancer-related pain and the symptoms and side effects of treatment
• Reassess as disease treatment progresses, and pursue alternative therapies or palliative care when necessary
• Participate in training sessions and correspondence for study protocols and clinical trials, and ensure that patient confidentiality is always maintained
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to accurately assess patient needs and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Participate as a key member of the patient-care team in implementing treatment plans and monitoring patient progress
• Utilize and promote approved standards of care, procedures, methods, techniques, safety precautions, and study protocols
• Participate in the development, review, and evaluation of standard operating procedures and study-specific

Required skills and qualifications:

• Doctor of medicine (MD) or MD/PhD, or equivalent, with training in oncology or hematology/oncology
• Board certification relevant to country of hire in hematology/oncology, with licensure in good standing
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and other medical professionals
• Motivation to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred skills and qualifications:

• Experience in research and/or clinical protocols
• Ability to interpret clinical, genomic, and efficacy data
• Experience 5 years at least in oncology center
