In this role, you will help conduct environmental engineering studies, prepare impact reports for new construction projects, evaluate proposed regulations, and develop procedures. You will conduct routine investigations, compile and analyze data, and maintain technical records. Your collaboration efforts and application of environmental engineering principles and techniques will contribute to project success.
Major Responsibilities:- Provide assistance in managing the environmental assessment studies for Ras-Al-Khair Industrial City including:
- Formulation of the scope and management the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies and deliverables.
- Managing the development of the environmental management program for the two cities, and assisting the Royal Commission in the implementation of the program.
- Establishing contract specific environmental requirements.
- Review of contractor environmental credentials at prequalification and tender.
- Liaison with Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.
- Ensuring that contractor environmental management plans meet contract and Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu requirements, and that contractors are complying with the requirements of their environmental management plans.
- Provide assistance and professional advice to engineering, project and construction management in identifying and complying with environmental requirements and in addressing environmental issues as they arise during project planning and execution.
- Provide client with expert opinion on miscellaneous environmental issues.
- Reviews project technical progress against approved schedules, scope and quality, and evaluates changes and takes corrective action when required.
- Manages the flow of information required to and from third parties and stakeholders to assure the timely progress of the technical work.
- Prepares or directs the preparation of project studies, reports, forecasts, and special technical reports.
- Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to client, project and functional management as directed and as appropriate.
- Understanding of local, state/provincial, and federal/national government programs and processes.
- Ability to work with the public and articulate planning issues to a wide variety of audiences.
- University degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental or any related Engineering discipline.
- 5 years of relevant experience in large facility/ infrastructure projects in the following areas: permitting, environmental regulatory compliance (air, water, soil, waste), assessment of environmental impact, site investigations and field surveys, source monitoring, and monitoring of the ambient environment.
- Experience in one of the following primary industries: petroleum refining, metals (smelting, rolling, alloys), and power plants.
- Fluent in English Language both oral and written communication.
- Strong Communication and Presentation skills
- Working within an integrated team with a diverse mixture of nationalities and cultures.
- Strong background managing the development of complex environmental technical studies.
- Experience in performing air dispersion modeling (AERMOD and CALPUFF)
- Knowledge of Best Available Techniques for the control of surface water discharges
- Knowledge of international environmental regulations such as the Federal US regulations, European Union or other advanced environmental regulatory systems.
- Environmental permitting/compliance experience in other manufacturing industries such as building materials, cement, glass, refractory products, machine and mechanical parts, fertilizers, nitrates and ammonia.
- Experience with preparation and monitoring of engineering performance and progress reporting (EPPR).
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering Quality Management Systems.

We are seeking a highly experienced Environmental Specialist to support environmental compliance, monitoring, and sustainability initiatives across a major PMC project. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental management roles within infrastructure, construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects, preferably in a consultancy or PMC setup.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure environmental compliance with local, national, and international regulations, standards, and client requirements.
- Review and monitor the implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).

Overview Of Position
FEDITC is seeking Environmental Technicians to oversee the Hazardous Waste (HazWaste) yard, complete inspections, provide training and other tasks identified in the base environmental plans.
This position is located in an undisclosed location in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)
United States Citizenship, US Passport, and active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.
Requirements
- Manage and operate the Hazardous Material Yards
- Implement Base Environmental Plans. Ensure timelines and deadlines for all base plan actions, inspections, and reports are met
- Conduct necessary training of base personnel as directed by the client or base environmental plan
- Conduct necessary site visits, inspections, and environmental actions as directed by the client and the base environmental plan
- Manage, handle, transport/coordinate the transport of, and dispose of hazardous material and refrigerants
- Calculate emissions and identify emissions point
- Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s)
- Other support duties as needed/directed
Experience/Skills:
- Three (3) years’ experience working in Environmental HazWaste Units/processing hazmat/waste.
- Two (2) years’ experience working in a HazWaste yard.
- Familiar with disposal methods.
- Familiar with types of facilities and industrial/nonindustrial locations where toxics are typically found.
- Understand the difference between short-term recovery and long-term remediation/clean-up.
- Understand when to implement the Environmental impact analysis process (EIAP).
- Ability to coordinate with external government agencies.
- Technical writing skills.
- Ability to forecast and schedule training.
- Ability to read and apply regulations.
- Familiarity with conducted inspections & developing and initiating corrective action plans.
- Have, or able to obtain a driver’s license and able to legally drive in the country assigned.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.

Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Guide projects, vessels, and facilities in implementing the company’s and site/vessel-specific Environmental requirements, including critical activities such as Engineering, Construction, HUC, Operations, and Contractor interfaces.
- Identify existing, new, and merged environmental legislation relevant to the scope of work, monitor compliance, and interpret its impact on the business plan.
- Prepare and complete environmental aspects and impacts registers, ENVIDs, or other risk reviews, including controls to manage environmental risks.
- Develop and implement environmental plans, procedures, and instructions.
- Maintain environmental legal and risk registers.
- Conduct environmental prequalification of subcontractors and vendors as applicable.
- Prepare environmental audit plans, conduct audits, and manage corrective actions.
- Prepare environmental performance reports and submit them to the Environmental Functional Lead and Site Management.
- Provide SME support to the QHSE training department, including development and delivery.
- Develop and oversee plans to meet facility/project objectives, targets, and goals aligned with global and business line strategies.
- Lead or participate as SME in incident investigations and reporting.
- Lead environmental investigations following incidents or non-compliances.
- Ensure corrective actions and recommendations are implemented.
- Complete reports for process and statutory requirements.
- Provide environmental input into look-ahead plans and reports based on project schedules.
- Contribute environmental input to MOCs and lessons learned.
- Assist in developing and maintaining emergency procedures.
- Participate in forums such as kick-off meetings, constructability reviews, and readiness reviews.
- Manage environmental performance indicator data collection, reporting, tracking, and analysis.
- Support communication and awareness initiatives related to environmental campaigns.
- Contribute to the annual sustainability report.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety, or Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced education (e.g., MBA or master's) is preferred.
- At least 6 years of experience within the energy industry, preferably within EPCI project execution.
- Training and experience as an ISO standards lead auditor (9001, 14001, or 45001).
- Ability to work as a team member and as a team leader.
- Experience with technical activities, including onshore and offshore operations.
- Maintain key competencies related to the Environmental function.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of local environmental laws, codes, regulations, and norms.
- Statistical and data analysis skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Conflict resolution and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs: Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Project management experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of platforms such as RegScan, Intelex, FigBytes, and PowerBI is preferred.
