Responsibilities
- Define and refine software architecture for complex, multi-domain systems.
- Translate customer and business requirements into scalable, cloud-ready solutions.

Requirements

- Hands-on with container platforms: OpenShift, Kubernetes.
- Familiar with monitoring tools: Elasticsearch, Grafana.
- Experience leading teams and delivering end-to-end architecture solutions.
- Strong understanding of microservices, modern integration, and cloud-native design.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure architecture.
- Arabic (C1) and English (C1) language proficiency.
- Willingness to travel for regular business engagements.

As a Software Architect, you will have full autonomy to shape technical direction, ensuring alignment with business needs and scalability. You'll define and refine product structures, translate customer needs into technical solutions, and lead architectural decisions across multiple product lines.

Responsibilities :
- Software Architect have full autonomy to deliver agreed technical objectives. Make decisions requiring extensive analysis and interpretation, including several intangible factors. Provides technical expertise in terms of software usage, and functional and non-functional aspects
- Work with software engineers and other architects to define and refine the product structure to align with the business, development, deployment, and maintenance needs.
- Work with customers and product line management to identify, refine, and translate customer needs into concrete technical requirements.
- Support and lead architectural decisions and tasks within a product line or across multiple product lines (cross portfolio).
- Lead projects, review technical designs and provide guidance to software engineers on technical and architectural design decisions
- Research, evaluate, and prototype new methodologies, technologies, and products, you will propose and follow through with improvements in processes and tools.
- Acquire an in-depth understanding of the customer context while making technical decisions and choices.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of proven experience in defining customer requirements, solution designs, and project implementation.
- Experience in independently learning new technologies and designing solutions around them
- Java: sprint boot based microservice stack such as open-API, Spring Cloud, Spring DATA, Spring JPA
- Practical experience with messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ
- Hands-on with Databases: PostgreSQL, Mongo, Redis
- Experience with Container platforms: OpenShift, Kubernetes, ElasticSearch, Grafana
- Experience in leading team in cross- domain solution within the organization
- Experience in designing end-to-end solution including system, software, application, integration and security considerations
- Knowledge of modern integration technologies

About The Role
Hala is hiring a Fintech Engineering Architect to lead the design of scalable, secure, and high-performing systems that power our core services; POS, payments, control cards, collections, and more. You’ll drive the technical direction for our engineering organization, ensuring our systems are built for scale and compliant with fintech standards.
You’ll work closely with engineering leads, product managers, and infrastructure teams to guide architecture decisions, set engineering standards, and ensure teams are aligned with business goals and technical strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Own and evolve Hala’s system architecture across backend, frontend, integrations, and infrastructure.
- Own and define engineering standards across teams—ensuring developers follow scalable, secure, and maintainable development practices.
- Design and validate distributed systems using .NET, microservices, and messaging queues.
- Set and enforce engineering standards for scalable, secure, and maintainable development.
- Define architectural patterns and guide design decisions for fintech services (e.g., POS, payments, cards, lending).
- Lead API and third-party fintech service integration strategy.
- Ensure architecture meets regulatory, security, and performance requirements.
- Partner with DevOps and Infra teams to align architecture with deployment and scalability needs.
- Conduct technical reviews, support engineering leads, and coach teams on best practices.
- 7+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in architecture roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise in .NET Core, microservices, and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
- Proven experience in fintech system design – payments, KYC, card processing, fraud, compliance.
- Experience defining technical standards and architecture governance.
- Skilled in integrating with third-party fintech APIs and services.
- Strong knowledge of secure coding, high availability, and system performance.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience with GCC fintech regulations (e.g., SAMA, Mada, SADAD).
- Worked in startup or high-growth fintech environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-native design (preferably Azure).
- Knowledge of Hala’s domain areas—merchant services, control cards, financing, collections.
