JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for overseeing the company’s global portfolio. To lead the implementation, tracking, and reporting of sustainability strategies across ACWA Power’s global operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s ESG commitments. The Sustainability Manager will support key initiatives such as carbon accounting, stakeholder engagement, projects evaluation, environmental attributes, sustainability reporting, and integration of environmental and social practices into core business functions.
JOB SCOPE:
Sustainability Strategy Execution
- Drive implementation of the company’s sustainability roadmap across business units.
- Identify and integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives that support ACWA Power’s long-term objectives.
Climate and Carbon Management
- Oversee Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG accounting and data collection in alignment with the GHG Protocol.
- Oversee the company’s environmental attributes inventory (carbon credits and iRECs), engage in the certification process, engage with buyers, and develop market strategy.
Sustainability Reporting and Disclosure
- Coordinate the development of annual sustainability and ESG reports aligned with global standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate across departments (e.g., Operations, Legal, Finance, Project Development) to embed sustainability in decision-making.
- Represent ACWA Power in external sustainability forums, working groups, and partnerships.
ESG Performance Monitoring
- Stay informed on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to environmental attributes, recommending innovative solutions to drive value for the company’s sustainability efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- Master’s degree or professional certifications is a plus
- 7+ years of experience in sustainability or ESG within energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong familiarity with global sustainability frameworks, carbon markets, and climate risk disclosures
- Strong understanding of global environmental regulations, carbon offset mechanisms, renewable energy markets, and sustainability frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate market data into strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
Our newest opportunity is for a Sustainability Manager to join our award-winning team based in Riyadh, KSA .
This role is responsible for supporting projects and clients to improve their sustainability performance and achieve high green certification ratings.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Develops (but not limited to) excellent quality sustainability reports, calculators, develop rating system support kits, standards documents and sustainability code compliance documents as required by clients and director.
- Maintaining direct control of timelines and budgets for different projects assigned to the consultant.
- Attending Client meetings as needed on behalf of the wider sustainability and environmental team.
- Working directly on design and consultancy deliverables including technical reports and supporting calculations.
- Communicates closely with senior management regarding the project’s financial performance, status and profitability.
- Understanding of green certification systems: LEED & Mostadam. WELL & Envision is mandatory.
- Ensuring that the sustainability requirements of green certification systems are complied with. Support the review of submissions by other parties and the undertaking of audits.
- Experience in auditing, reporting and providing reports to clients and green certification authorities.
- Communicates with other KEO Divisions about sustainability relating to projects, regulatory issues, education and new developments
- Ensuring existing quality control, quality assurance, submittal protocols, and document flow procedures are followed and successfully implemented.
- Implements sustainability international best practice in all areas of work. Takes responsibility for maintaining knowledge of changes in market and where needed, undertakes relevant new accreditations or accreditation requirements.
- Prepares and responds to RFPs for both technical and commercial components of both compliance level and complex project bids.
- Represents KEO at public speaking events or conduct education seminar on sustainability topics to groups.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 8+ years' work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Architectural or Engineering . Knowledge of working on green certifications and submission procedures as per US Green Building Council and BRE requirements will be considered beneficial.

- Analyze and evaluate primary and secondary sustainability and environmental information related to building design and performance using BI tools, spreadsheets, or other relevant tools.
- Knowledge and Communication:
- Stay updated on relevant sustainable design trends, green building certification systems, relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct research, interpret regulations, and advise design teams and stakeholders on compliance requirements and sustainable design best practices.
- Conduct regular sustainability workshops to educate asset development teams and stakeholders on sustainable design principles, green building certification processes, QIC’s sustainability vision, framework, and ESG initiatives.
Other:
- Be able to read, analyze & challenge technical reports such as BOD, acoustics, microclimate, LCA, Energy Modeling, etc.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Manager, Sustainability.
Requirements
- Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized university, preferably in Architectural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Master’s degree in Sustainability, Building Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications:
- Holds a valid LEED AP credential for at least 5 years, with additional two sustainability credentials such as: Mostadam AP, GSAS CGP, BREEAM Assessor, EDGE Expert, Envision SP, WELL AP,
- Holding CEM, Home Energy Rater, or any similar credential is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience in engineering, with at least 10 years heavily focused on sustainable design, green building certification (LEED, Mostadam, IFC EDGE are key), and ESG practices.
- Proven experience integrating sustainability principles into the design of large-scale, mixed-use developments from concept through to construction documentation.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and achieving LEED, IFC EDGE, Mostadam, BREEAM, or Envision certifications for multiple projects.
- Up-to-date knowledge of carbon accounting (especially embodied carbon in design), ESG reporting as it relates to sustainable development, decarbonization strategies for buildings, and Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) in design.
- Sufficient knowledge and understanding of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Biodiversity Reports, Microclimate Analyses, Acoustic Studies, Design Simulation, and Energy Models, particularly how they inform sustainable design outcomes.
- Technical Skills:
- Well-versed in sustainability standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with sustainability assessment tools and methodologies.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and inspire teams across multiple disciplines towards common sustainability goals.
