The Clinical Trials Manager leads operational and engagement initiatives that strengthen the clinical trials ecosystem in Saudi Arabia. This role manages a dedicated team responsible for sponsor relations, site enablement, and ecosystem-wide strategies that support national ambitions for clinical research. In addition, the manager supports and organizes business development activities, oversees clinical trial-related projects, and proposes policies, procedures, and guidelines. Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage national programs that enhance site readiness, streamline trial implementation, and strengthen collaboration across the clinical trials ecosystem.
- Drive structured engagement with sponsors and CROs through initiatives such as business development programs, “Sponsor Gate,” and Fast Track support mechanisms.
- Oversee clinical trial-related projects from design through execution, ensuring alignment with national strategic priorities and efficient delivery.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of centralized databases capturing site capabilities, investigator profiles, and sponsor needs.
- Conduct regular ecosystem mapping and gap analysis to identify regional or institutional opportunities for ecosystem development.
- Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to clinical trial growth, and operational effectiveness.
- Propose, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and guidelines that improve trial operations and multi-stakeholder coordination.
- Act as a liaison with sponsors, CROs, research institutions, and regulatory bodies to remove barriers and enable collaborative progress.
- Support the design and rollout of national training and capacity-building programs to elevate site and workforce capabilities in clinical research.
- Establish structured feedback mechanisms to capture stakeholder input and inform continuous improvement in clinical trials operations and engagement.
- Represent the directorate in national and international forums, promoting Saudi Arabia’s clinical trial capabilities and strategic vision.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of specialists working on clinical trial ecosystem initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Life Sciences, Public Health, Healthcare Management, Clinical Research, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 6 years of experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 8 years of experience in clinical research, healthcare strategy, or ecosystem development.
- Proven experience in managing multi-stakeholder programs or projects, preferably within the clinical trials ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of the clinical trial landscape, including regulatory frameworks, site activation processes, and sponsor dynamics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, oversee complex projects, and drive engagement across public and private sector stakeholders.

Integrate theory and practice by facilitating clinical practice in the day to day working in in-patient or out-patient environment to reinforce learning process and evidence-based practice.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Implement competency based assessment tools for direct patient care providers.
- Participate in planning curriculum, teaching schedule, and courses outline.
- Maintain an educational environment which encourages improvement in the quality of care delivered, minimize infection and contamination.
- Plan, submit for approval and implement a yearly educational program for the nursing workforce which meets the ever changing needs of the healthcare service provided at HMG.
- Take responsibility for the regular review of nursing competency documents to ensure they remain valid and relevant.
- Review clinical literature via appropriate means to ensure own knowledge remains up to date and implements practice that is evidence based.
- Meet regularly with the trainees, Head Nurse – Nursing Education to maintain productive two-way communication between the program and the unit staff.
- Provide feedback to the educational program about current department/hospital policies or changes in practice in the field and make suggestions for program modifications or improvement.
- Identify learning needs of trainees, staff and participate in setting plans and objectives to meet these needs.
- Implement and evaluate clinically-based teaching and learning activities based on assessment needs, levels of competence and standards of care.
- Maintain training records for all trainees and staff that appears on the nursing database that can be used for reference for future reviews of matters associated with both knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate to facilitate all post conferences on clinical training.
- Ensure trainee’s compliance to all requirements needed by educational programs and evaluate trainees performance.
- Orient trainees and new nursing staff to the clinical areas and demonstrate proper procedures.
- Participate in professional self-development related to areas of clinical expertise, educator roles and education theories, principles and methods.
- Conduct clinical performance assessment of staff within areas of responsibility in collaboration with the Head Nurse of Education and develop a staff improvement plan if required.
- Ensure implementation of and guides the nursing staff in providing patient and family education.
- Maintain employee confidentiality regarding learning styles, progress and test results both formal and informal assessment and learning outcomes.
- Integrate ethical principles into all aspects of practice.
- Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/ her knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Education/ Professional Qualification Bachelor’s Degree (Nursing)
- Experience Minimum of at least 4 years working experience in same specialty
- Professional Licensing / Certification / Training Valid registration of Saudi Council as Nursing Specialist Relevant Certifications i.e. Basic Life Support, Advance Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advance Life Support, Advance Trauma Life Support
