Job Summary

The Network Engineer ensures the stability and integrity of the organization’s voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. The position is also responsible for system network design, identifying problem areas (including but not limited to network infrastructure and servers), and finding ways to enhance and improve existing systems.

Job Responsibilities

1. Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
2. Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operations.
3. Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end-user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
4. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to stay updated with industry developments.
5. Design, implement, and maintain VOIP phone systems, including phone servers and phones.
6. Ensure network connectivity for all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
7. Manage servers, including database, e-mail, printers, and backup servers, along with their operating systems and software.
8. Practice network asset management, including maintaining inventory and related documentation and technical specifications.
9. Monitor and test network performance; provide performance statistics and reports.
10. Conduct server and security audits, backups, and recovery processes.

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
