Overview
Material Standardization specializing in Chemicals has for primary objective to ensure consistency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in the selection, procurement, and utilization of chemical materials across projects within the organization. The role aims at contributing to the organization while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible work environment, and optimizing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of chemical material management processes.
Responsibilities- Developing and executing standardized material selection strategies tailored to chemical applications to optimize procurement processes, minimize project costs, and maintain quality and safety standards.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and project management, to understand project requirements, objectives, and timelines, and align material standardization efforts accordingly.
- Conducting comprehensive technical evaluations and assessments of chemical materials, considering factors such as composition, purity, compatibility, and regulatory compliance, to ensure suitability for specific applications.
- Establishing and nurturing relationships with chemical suppliers and vendors to ensure a reliable supply chain, negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules, and address any supply-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Developing and maintaining documentation, including material specifications, standards, safety data sheets, and regulatory certifications, to facilitate efficient procurement processes, support project planning and execution, and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and environmental regulations governing the handling, storage, and use of chemical materials, and implementing appropriate risk management measures to mitigate potential hazards and ensure workplace safety.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings, process optimization, and risk mitigation through material standardization initiatives, bulk purchasing, and strategic supplier partnerships, while maintaining stringent quality control standards and minimizing potential risks to project execution.
- Monitoring industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in chemical materials and processes to continuously improve material standardization processes, enhance material performance and reliability, and support the organization's goals of operational excellence and sustainability.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in standardization, quality management preferred.
Substantial experience in the chemical industry, particularly in roles related to material standardization, quality control or regulatory compliance. Experience in a supervisory or leadership position is preferred.
In-depth understanding of chemical standards, regulations and industry best practices.

Job PurposeTo support the development and implementation of safety processes and procedures in order to ensure a safe, incident–free environment and create a safety culture in TASNEE.
Role responsibilities- Review processes for process-related hazards and propose interventions to ensure safe operational activity.
- Incorporate safety precautions, mechanisms, and standards to ensure safe operating procedures and systems are in place for operational, engineering, and maintenance activities.
- Update knowledge on international and industry safety best practices on an ongoing basis to make pertinent recommendations.
- Perform detailed risk analysis of operational, maintenance, and project activities with potentially significant risk; prepare risk assessments and suggest control measures; maintain risk profiling and monitoring during different stages of plant operations.
- Review existing and new engineering projects and processes from design and construction perspectives; suggest and incorporate safety standards and specifications for safe construction and operating phases.
- Provide guidelines on safety aspects prior to and during alterations and modifications to prevent incidents.
- Identify new safety hazards due to alterations or modifications and recommend control measures.
- Inspect sites regularly and conduct surveys of accident-prone areas for compliance with safe working procedures and standards.
- Conduct investigations of minor incidents independently or as part of an investigation team for major incidents as required.
- Brief team members on safety procedures related to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and draft investigation reports for management review.
- Assist with the development of awareness and training programs on process safety issues.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within defined areas to guarantee employee safety, regulatory compliance, and responsible environmental stewardship.
- Ensure compliance with EHSM, IMRS and Responsible Care standards and safety regulations within TASNEE.
- Bachelors in Chemical or Process Safety Engineering.
- 4 - 6 years of experience with a minimum of 2 years as an HSE Specialist in a reputed Oil & Gas organization, with a proven record of efficiency, performance and achievements.

In this role, you will leverage your process expertise to support and advance the company’s environmental, health, safety, and stewardship goals. By ensuring consistent product quality and driving cost-effective manufacturing, you will play a key role in creating competitive advantages that contribute to Guardian’s business success.
What You Will Do- Lead the design and optimization of coating processes for current and upcoming product projects.
- Serve as an integral member of the global development team, contributing to new thin film process technology, product launches, product transfers and process improvement initiatives.
- Lead an operational team in a safe and efficient manner and take ownership of vision advancement, safety, quality, and productivity.
- Provide process engineering support to plant operations, driving improvements in quality, performance, and throughput of vacuum coating systems.

- Proven expertise in problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Six Sigma, and Lean principles, with a track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.

- Hands-on experience in glass production environments, specifically working with coating lines.
- Familiarity with thin film optical materials and expertise in thin film characterization techniques such as Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), X-Rite color measurement, and X-ray Diffraction (XRD).
- Experience with thin film optical coating design and analysis software tools, including TFCalc, Optilayer, Essential Macleod, Ellipsometer, or other thin film modeling packages.
- Experience operating and interpreting data from quality control laboratory equipment such as profilometers, HunterLab spectrophotometers, PerkinElmer instruments, and performing chemical and optical coatings durability testing.
