Full Job Description

The PR Manager will oversee the strategic planning and implementation of all press and media relations related to SM's events and assets.

This role is responsible for executing media strategies and identifying key media opportunities to effectively communicate SM's narrative.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute PR initiatives across the company, including writing press releases and pitching stories to key motorsports industry entities, business and marketing publications, blogs, media conferences and media outlets.
  • Develop company media kit & monitor media coverage.
  • Lead SM’s involvement in press and media relations for brand sponsorships.
  • Coordinate with the brand press agency for amplification of the stories to other press outlets.
  • Work closely with SM partners to support and implement tailored PR programs based on specific sponsor requirements and objectives.
  • Support the content pipelines for corporate social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) as an extension of company/partner messaging.
  • Edit and write short-form versions of stories for internal communications based on news releases and coverage.
  • Report on press relations activity for senior leadership reviews.
  • Serve as a part of the overall external communications team to support department activity, as needed.
  • Develop crisis management strategy and manage media inquiries during crises.
  • Generate regular/project-based media Performance Report & sentiment analysis report to assess the impact of PR campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience leading media and PR efforts for a sports organization or related industry.
  • Demonstrated success in leading media and PR initiatives within an organization.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and sense of ownership, ability to write concisely and convincingly.
  • Must be able to work independently, manage competing priorities, think strategically, engage others, or escalate as necessary.
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity and trust in interpersonal interactions and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel to company events and meetings, as needed.
  • Involvement in PR organizations or associations preferred.
  • Fluency in Arabic & English.
