Gatehouse supervisor

Full Job Description

• Supervise the operational activities at the port terminal gate, ensuring efficient and safe movement of cargo and vehicles in and out of the terminal.

• Oversee and coordinate the activities of gate clerks, security personnel, and other staff members working at the terminal gate.

• Ensure compliance with port terminal operating procedures, safety regulations and secutity protocols.

• Monitor and maintain accurate records of incoming and outcoming cargo, containers, and vehicles, including proper documentation and tracking.

• Coordinate with internal departments, such as operations, customer service, and maintenance, to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic at the gate.

• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues related to terminal gate operations, striving to provide excellent customer service.

• Implement and enforce security measure to safeguard the terminal, including verifying the credentials of drivers, inspecting vehicles, and monitoring access control.

• Train and mentor gate staff on operational procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.

• Collaborate with management to identify areas for improvement in gate operations and implement efficient solutions.
• Participate in regular meetings and communicate with other departments to ensure seamless coordinate and operation of the port terminal.
